| Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology sets the date for announcing the admission scores. |
This morning (August 14th), Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology announced the date for the announcement of admission results and enrollment for the 2024-2025 academic year.
Accordingly, the announcement of the admission scores for method 5 (comprehensive admission) and the official results of the early admission methods will take place at 5:08 PM on August 17th.
On August 18th, candidates can check their admission results. New students will complete the enrollment procedures in person at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology on August 20th and 21st. Instructions on preparing documents, the enrollment schedule, and participation in orientation activities for new students will be announced soon.
Associate Professor Bui Hoai Thang, Head of Training Department, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, said that the expected cut-off scores for this year's admission method 5 (combined admission method, including high school graduation exam scores) will not fluctuate much compared to last year. The reason is that the main factor affecting this admission method is the aptitude test score, while the distribution of aptitude test scores has remained stable in recent years.
For popular majors favored by candidates for many years, such as Computer Science ; Computer Engineering; Chemical Engineering, Food Technology, Biotechnology; Industrial Systems Engineering, Logistics and Supply Chain Management... the cut-off scores this year remain at the same level as last year.
For newly opened majors, the cutoff scores will be correlated with related majors. Specifically, Data Science is correlated with Computer Science; Microcircuit Design is in the Electrical and Electronics group; Construction Economics is in the Construction group; and Geotechnical Engineering is correlated with the Construction group and the Geology - Petroleum group.
Associate Professor Bui Hoai Thang also stated that majors/groups of majors with high demand and many job opportunities but attracting little interest from candidates usually have relatively low and stable admission scores. These include: Geology - Petroleum (global employment), Environmental Resources (moving towards Net-zero), Materials (including the narrow field of Semiconductor Materials), Textiles - Garments (green, sustainable), Thermal Engineering (cooling, heating...), Industrial Maintenance, Engineering Physics (biomedical physics...), and Mechanical Engineering (computational mechanics, simulation...).
The admission score for Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology is the sum of three components: the aptitude test score organized by the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City; the high school graduation exam score; and the academic transcript score. Of these, academic performance accounts for 90%, personal achievements for 5%, and social, cultural, and artistic activities for 5%.
Specifically: Academic performance criteria (90%): Includes 3 components: academic scores at the high school level (including 6 semesters corresponding to the registered subject combination for admission); high school graduation exam scores (including subjects in the admission combination); and scores from the 2024 aptitude test.
Individual achievement criteria (5%): Students who have won awards in national-level student competitions, science and technology competitions, foreign language proficiency, international admission certificates, membership in national or provincial/city-level student teams, and other academic awards. Social, cultural, and arts activities criteria (5%).
