Consumers should buy mooncakes from reputable sources.

Local authorities need to strengthen communication on ensuring food safety during the Mid-Autumn Festival. Specifically, food production and business establishments need to comply with food safety regulations: conditions of facilities, equipment, tools, knowledge and practices; adherence to regulations on the origin of food ingredients, self-declarations of products; and the use of food coloring, flavoring, additives, and packaging.

Consumers need guidance on selecting, preparing, preserving, and using food safely; they should only buy and use food and food additives with clear labels and origins.
