The ASEAN Cup 2026 kicks off on July 24th, marking the 30th anniversary of the Southeast Asian Football Championship. This year's tournament is even more noteworthy as the Vietnamese national team participates as the defending champion, and it is also the second ASEAN Cup that the "Golden Star Warriors" have competed in under the guidance of coach Kim Sang Sik .

This year's ASEAN Cup continues to use the home-and-away format. The group stage, semi-final, and final matches will be held alternately in the member countries whose teams are participating. Vietnam will play two home matches at My Dinh National Stadium ( Hanoi ), against Singapore on July 31st and Cambodia on August 7th. Vietnam's away match on August 3rd will be in Indonesia, while the match against Timor Leste on July 24th is yet to be determined.
