The event was jointly organized by the Vietnam Copyright Association, the Center for Law and Copyright, and the Institute of Development Philosophy. The significance of this event is closely linked to important historical milestones. In 2025, we are proud to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), while also looking forward to the 100th anniversary of the Founding of the country (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2045). This year, the international community also celebrates the 55th anniversary of the Convention Establishing the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the 25th anniversary of World Intellectual Property Day. These events converge, creating a golden opportunity for Vietnam to affirm its position in the global knowledge flow, with intellectual property as the core driving force.
Strengthening intellectual property, enhancing Vietnam's reputation and position
In fact, in Vietnam, copyright and copy rights infringement is taking place seriously, causing great damage to the economy and undermining the country's reputation in the international arena. Vietnam currently ranks 9th globally and 3rd in the Asia-Pacific region in terms of copyright and copy rights infringement rates.
Therefore, the program to implement the Law on Intellectual Property, Copyright and Copy Rights was launched to perfect the legal framework, apply modern technologies such as blockchain and NFT stamps, and integrate Vietnam into the global copyright system via WIPO Connect. The goal is to protect creativity, turn "content capital" into "digital assets", and promote the creative economy to contribute to the national GDP (according to practical experience from countries that have successfully implemented the promotion of creative industries, it is estimated that it can reach 5-7%), while enhancing Vietnam's reputation in trade agreements such as CPTPP and EVFTA.
According to experts, the enforcement of copyright protection through the implementation of legal copying licensing and exclusive anti-copying rights, transparency plays a key role in reducing copyright and copying rights violations, encouraging creative entities to continue to promote their creativity, contributing to increasing the ratio of intellectual property value to the total asset value of the enterprise system, attracting investment, promoting sustainable economic development, and enhancing international cooperation in the field of intellectual property.
With the world integrating Vietnam into the global copyright protection system through the "WIPO Connect" platform under the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Vietnam is rapidly narrowing the gap between itself and developed countries.
Along with that, "Journey from 50+ to 100+" is a commitment to building a Vietnamese Creative Brand system, honoring creative entities, supporting private enterprises, youth, and student startups.

In particular, Resolution 57-NQ/TW has a profound guiding viewpoint on ensuring data security of organizations and individuals, amending and perfecting legal regulations on intellectual property, ensuring data becomes an important source of production resources, establishing ownership rights, trading data, distributing values created from data, developing data economy, data market, developing digital culture, enhancing international cooperation in science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation.
According to Associate Professor, Dr. Dao Duy Khoat, in the context of the world standing on the threshold of great strategic opportunities and after 40 years of renovation, Vietnam has strategic prerequisites to enter the era of rising up.
"The current 4.0 industrial revolution, most notably the explosion of information technology, artificial intelligence, big data, biotechnology, new materials technology, etc., is the biggest driving force for the country to realize the goals and aspirations of the era of national development," Associate Professor, Dr. Dao Duy Quat commented.
Meanwhile, the rapid development of new productive forces requires the emergence of new production relations that are consistent with the nature and level of productive forces. Therefore, when digital technology, artificial intelligence, and big data develop strongly, it is inevitable to perfect and effectively enforce the Law on Intellectual Property, copyright, and copy rights of creative entities.
Associate Professor, Dr. Dao Duy Quat said that the Intellectual Property Law affirms the ownership of creative intelligence in the digital production method. "Digital data creation" becomes the basic unit of production labor operations. "Digital information content" becomes the basic unit of production labor products. "Digital content capital" has authenticity and usefulness, has become the basic raw material, blood, resource, "basic asset" of the digital economy. And "content ownership" is the ownership of soft power in the 4.0 creative industrial economy.
