Implementing the direction of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Finance on the payment of pensions and social insurance benefits for the May 2025 period, as of April 28, the entire Vietnam Social Security system has basically completed payments to 3.41 million pensioners and monthly social insurance benefits, ensuring speed, convenience, safety and compliance with regulations.

Accordingly, with the spirit of dedication and responsibility to perform well the assigned tasks, in a short time, Vietnam Social Security has focused resources to implement the payment to beneficiaries nationwide as soon as possible and promptly as prescribed.

Specifically: Immediately after the Prime Minister issued the Official Dispatch and the Ministry of Finance directed, Vietnam Social Security issued Official Dispatch No. 534/BHXH-TCKT dated April 21, 2025 requesting Vietnam Post Corporation, Social Security of regions, Social Security of provinces and cities to review data, focus resources and organize the payment of pensions and social insurance benefits for May 2025 from April 25 to April 28, 2025 to ensure full, timely and in accordance with regulations.

Vietnam Social Security has immediately developed the most optimal payment plan; focused on and prepared funding sources; increased the allocation of human resources and information technology infrastructure to connect with post offices to transfer electronic payment lists for cash payments; connected bilateral payments with the banking system, regularly monitored electronic payment orders to beneficiaries on payment days; immediately handled system errors and cases of incorrect account information so that payments were not interrupted.

Social insurance agencies of localities have sought the support of Party committees, authorities, post offices, and the banking system to ensure smooth, timely, and safe payment. As a result, as of April 28, the entire Vietnam Social Insurance system has basically completed payment to 3.41 million pensioners and monthly social insurance benefits for the May 2025 payment period, ensuring speed, convenience, and safety in accordance with regulations, specifically:

The Social Insurance Agency paid directly through personal accounts on April 25 and 26 to 2.74 million beneficiaries (accounting for about 80% of the total number of monthly pension and social insurance beneficiaries) with a total amount of VND 17,763 billion.

Cash payment through the postal system from April 25 to 28 using other flexible payment methods such as: cash at payment points or payment at home (for cases of old age, loneliness, illness, and infirmity that are unable to come to receive at the payment point) for 671 thousand beneficiaries (20% of the total number of monthly pension and social insurance beneficiaries) with a total amount of VND 3,536 billion.

Along with the payment work, the Social Insurance of regions and provinces also promote propaganda and guide people to use the convenient form of receiving pensions through personal accounts, contributing to modernizing payment methods and ensuring the best benefits for beneficiaries.

The early payment of pensions and social insurance benefits for May 2025, right before the April 30 holiday, has created conditions for beneficiaries to celebrate the 50th anniversary of National Reunification Day and stimulate consumption in accordance with the direction of the Prime Minister. Thereby, it demonstrates the deep, timely and meaningful concern of the Government and the Prime Minister, along with the proactive and active direction of the Ministry of Finance, and the efforts of the Vietnam Social Security in the context of streamlining and restructuring the apparatus to increasingly better ensure the rights of participants and beneficiaries of social insurance policies.
