Comrade Nguyen Chi Dung, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Minister of Planning and Investment, and Head of the Editorial Team, chaired the meeting.
Also attending were leaders of the Central Economic Committee; representatives of ministries and agencies, some committees of the National Assembly, the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, the People's Committees of some provinces and centrally-administered cities, and leaders of departments, divisions, and institutes of ministries and agencies.
According to the report presented at the meeting, the process of drafting the Socio-Economic Report was carried out urgently and seriously immediately after the 9th Plenum of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Following the direction of the Prime Minister , the Head of the Socio-Economic Subcommittee, the Editorial Team clearly assigned specific tasks to its members to participate in the preparation of the Socio-Economic Report based on the Outline approved by the 9th Central Committee Conference, while also conducting in-depth research on several key areas.
In addition, to provide a basis for the Socio-Economic Report based on the practical development of localities, the Socio-Economic Subcommittee and the Standing Committee of the Editorial Board organized working groups to visit localities in the following regions: the Red River Delta, the Northern Midlands and Mountains, the North Central and Central Coastal regions, and the Central Highlands.

The Socio-Economic Report has been developed and refined step-by-step through numerous drafts, while also being compared and based on drafts of the Political Report to promptly update the content and ensure consistency between the two reports.
During the discussion, the Editorial Board members assessed that the draft Socio-Economic Report basically covered a fairly comprehensive range of issues, from assessing the current situation and forecasting the context and situation to proposing directions, tasks, and solutions for the 2026-2030 period. It presented new and groundbreaking viewpoints, orientations, and solutions to promote rapid, effective, and sustainable socio-economic development, with a determination to achieve the main goals and targets set out in the Strategy by 2030.
The feedback has added further insights and assessments of the current situation, context, and circumstances, and proposed key directions and solutions for various sectors and fields, as well as for overall issues in the socio-economic development of the entire country.
Concluding the meeting, Comrade Nguyen Chi Dung, Minister of Planning and Investment and Head of the Editorial Team, instructed the Standing Committee of the Editorial Team to incorporate the opinions of the Editorial Team members to finalize the draft Socio-Economic Report and prepare it for submission to the Socio-Economic Subcommittee and then to the Politburo.
