According to a recent blog post by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone SE 4 will be released around mid-early 2025, specifically around the end of the first quarter of the year. This means that this low-cost iPhone model will launch in March or April 2025, similar to previous versions.
The iPhone SE 4 is expected to resemble the design of the standard iPhone 14. |
Beyond the launch date, Kuo did not reveal any other details about the iPhone SE 4, which could be called the "iPhone 16E" or something similar.
Another recent leak claimed that the iPhone SE 4 would launch alongside iOS 18.3, which is expected to be released in late January. However, this was quickly dismissed by Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman, who said that Apple is aiming to release the device before April.
The iPhone SE 4 is expected to have a similar design to the standard iPhone 14. Rumored features include a 6.1-inch OLED display, Face ID, a USB-C port, a single 48-megapixel rear camera, a newer A-series chip and 8GB of RAM with Apple Intelligence support, and Apple's first in-house 5G modem.
The current iPhone SE has a similar design to the iPhone 8, with outdated features like the Touch ID button, Lightning port, and thick screen bezels. It starts at $429, but it’s likely to get a slight price increase for the iPhone SE 4.
Thus, the iPhone SE 4 or iPhone 16E will likely be launched in March or April, with a more modern design, powerful hardware and significant improvements that promise to refresh the iPhone SE line, which has maintained the old design for many years.
