At the Ho Chi Minh Memorial House on the summit of Deo De Pass, Phu Dinh commune, Dinh Hoa district, officials and members of the Quang Tri Provincial Journalists Association expressed their respect and gratitude, and reported to President Ho Chi Minh on the achievements that Quang Tri's press has attained in recent times. Before his spirit, the journalists of Quang Tri pledged to continuously cultivate their moral character and hone their professional skills, worthy of being vanguard fighters on the ideological and cultural front in the "land of fire" Quang Tri.

On this occasion, the delegation also visited and offered incense at the historical site where the Vietnam Journalists Association was founded in Roong Khoa hamlet, Diem Mac commune, Dinh Hoa district. Here, generations of journalists from Quang Tri province recalled the history of the Vietnam Journalists Association's development and growth; they visited the memorial plaque and the Association's exhibition house, which preserves artifacts and photographs of important activities of the association's leaders throughout its history from its founding to the present day.
At the same time, the delegation also visited the Huynh Thuc Khang School of Journalism National Historical Site in Tan Thai commune, Dai Tu district. Here, on April 4, 1949, following the directives of President Ho Chi Minh, the General Headquarters of the Viet Minh and the Resistance Press Group established the Huynh Thuc Khang School of Journalism.
The Huynh Thuc Khang School of Journalism was only open for three months (from April to July 1949) but it became an unforgettable chapter in the history of Vietnamese journalism. After graduating from the first and only course in the history of revolutionary Vietnamese journalism during the resistance against French colonialism, 42 students went on to work in press and propaganda agencies, becoming key writers who made significant contributions to the resistance and national reconstruction, and to building the foundation of revolutionary Vietnamese journalism.

Also as part of the "Back to the Roots" program, officials and members of the Quang Tri Provincial Journalists Association visited the Tan Trao Temple and Tan Trao Banyan Tree (Tuyen Quang province); the Vietnam Press Museum (Hanoi); K15 Wharf - the departure point of the "no-number" ships supporting the South in the fight against the US for national liberation; Nghieng Wharf - where the last French soldiers withdrew from the North; the Bach Dang Giang National Historical Site... They also exchanged experiences and shared journalistic skills with journalists' associations in Thai Nguyen, Thai Binh provinces and Hai Phong city.
According to Hoang Ngoc Sy, Standing Vice Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial Journalists Association: Organizing the "back to the roots" activity in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of Vietnam's Revolutionary Press Day has practical significance, contributing to the education of traditions for the current generation of officials and members of the Quang Tri Provincial Journalists Association.
“During this journey, we visited historical sites of revolutionary journalism to better understand the spirit and enthusiasm of previous generations of journalists, especially the exemplary journalistic work of President Ho Chi Minh, to continue learning from and emulating him. This will further cultivate our love for the profession, improve our ethics, expertise, and skills, and strive to excellently fulfill all assigned tasks, making positive contributions to building the revolutionary Vietnamese press in general, and the Quang Tri press in particular,” Mr. Sy said.
