(Dan Tri Newspaper) - After 1.5 years of construction, the Tran Quoc Hoan - Phan Thuc Duyet underpass (Tan Binh district) has been completed and is expected to open to traffic tomorrow (August 10th).
The Tran Quoc Hoan - Phan Thuc Duyet underpass (Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City) is one of the important components of package 9 of the project to build the road connecting Tran Quoc Hoan and Cong Hoa streets. After more than 1.5 years of construction, the Tran Quoc Hoan - Phan Thuc Duyet underpass project, with an investment of over 200 billion VND, is basically complete and is expected to open to traffic on August 10th.
The Tran Quoc Hoan - Phan Thuc Duyet underpass is 400m long and 9m wide, with 2 lanes for vehicles. According to observations by a Dan Tri reporter, the underpass has been completed with asphalt paving and painted lines.
Lighting systems have also been installed from the access road to the inside of the tunnel.
Outside the tunnel entrance, workers are painting the walls on both sides.
Another group of workers was assigned to complete painting the directional markings at the tunnel entrances and exits.
Workers were also busy completing the sidewalks around the Tran Quoc Hoan - Phan Thuc Duyet underpass on the afternoon of August 8th. This project is managed by the Ho Chi Minh City Investment and Construction Project Management Board for Transportation Works (Transportation Board). Iran has again blockaded the Strait of Hormuz. On June 19, Iran reimposed a blockade on the Strait of Hormuz, citing Israel's refusal to withdraw its forces from southern Lebanon and the continued presence of US troops in the region.
The Cộng Hòa road (Tân Bình district) was once assessed by the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Traffic Management Center as being under 150% overload compared to its capacity. The construction of an underpass at the Trần Quốc Hoàn - Phan Thúc Duyện intersection in particular, or the road connecting Trần Quốc Hoàn to Cộng Hòa in general, will reduce traffic congestion and conflicts in the area surrounding the Tân Sơn Nhất airport gateway. After the underpass opens to traffic, vehicles will travel in the direction from Phan Thuc Duyet - Thang Long - Cong Hoa roads instead of having to travel on Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa roads as before. This will help reduce traffic pressure in the area around the Lang Cha Ca roundabout, near the gateway to Tan Son Nhat airport.
