My Hanoi

Hanoi is the most familiar and familiar thing, just the sound of guava vendors, the sound of knives chopping meat, the sound of neighbors talking back and forth is enough to make me smile a lot every day. If we just slow down a little, listen a little more carefully, each of those simple sounds is the breath of life. Hidden under each sound are the diverse colors of Hanoi's life.

For author Bui Quang Thuy, Hanoi is just that small. It is the noise, the bustle, sometimes laughter, sometimes sighs, that is the beloved Hanoi, and then at some point in the dream the author can also exclaim: I love Hanoi!. From that feeling, the author has created the photo series "My Hanoi", as a way to express his passionate love for the beloved and simple Hanoi. Vietnam.vn would like to introduce to you beautiful images of Hanoi from every angle through the lens of author Bui Quang Thuy. The photo series was sent by the author to participate in the Photo and Video Contest "Happy Vietnam - Happy Vietnam", organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications.

In the autobiography of his photo collection, author Bui Quang Thuy confided: "I was not born in Hanoi but I fell in love with this place. I love the simple things here, even the darkest parts and the ugliest moments. I don't know if I love Hanoi too much or if I've gotten used to the pace of life here, but just thinking about leaving this place makes me feel sad and regretful, not wanting to leave at all. Hanoi to me is the days when I carried my camera and followed my friend to practice taking photos. I miss the beloved foreign guests on the "Western hunting" trips on the walking street. Or the days when I wandered the streets alone. There were days when I sat on the bus to the last stop and then took the bus back. I like the feeling of being alone, watching the streets, the people and taking photos that when I look back later, will remind me of a Hanoi that I will always love."

In 2024, the Photo and Video Contest "Happy Vietnam - Happy Vietnam" will continue to be organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications in coordination with the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists on the website. https://happy.vietnam.vn is open to all Vietnamese citizens and foreigners aged 15 and over. The contest aims to honor individuals and groups with positive information products, making practical contributions to the propaganda and promotion of a beautiful image of Vietnam to the world. Thereby helping people in the country, compatriots abroad and international friends access authentic images of the country, Vietnamese people, Vietnam's achievements in ensuring human rights, towards a happy Vietnam. Each contest category (photo and video) has the following prizes and prize values: - 01 Gold Medal: 70,000,000 VND - 02 Silver Medals: 20,000,000 VND - 03 Bronze Medals: 10,000,000 VND - 10 Encouragement Prizes: 5,000,000 VND - 01 most voted work: 5,000,000 VND The winning authors will be invited by the Organizing Committee to attend the Award Ceremony and Award Ceremony and Certificate on live television of Vietnam Television.
