Following directives from the Ministry of Information and Communications and Viettel Group, Viettel Ha Giang is widely disseminating information about the implementation of solutions to control connections to the 2G mobile telecommunications network. Simultaneously, it is implementing the roadmap for phasing out 2G technology, ensuring the continuous and uninterrupted provision of new mobile communication services to replace it, and protecting the rights of service users.
In particular, during the final stretch with just over a month left before the official end of 2G technology, Viettel Ha Giang is implementing a series of promotional programs, subsidizing smartphones, offering trial data packages, and providing many accompanying entertainment services to attract customers to switch early.

Since the beginning of the year, Viettel Ha Giang has supported the conversion of over 20,000 2G subscribers. Surveys show that the majority of subscribers who have not yet converted are customers in remote areas, those with difficult circumstances, and elderly people who only need to make and receive calls.
Understanding the current mindset of 2G mobile users, especially those with low incomes, Viettel Ha Giang is implementing special promotions and appropriate policies to help customers access the benefits of modern technology.
Specifically, 2G subscribers will receive a free 4G smartphone when registering for a Viettel service package with a term of 6 months or more. If they don't use a service package, they will receive a 30-50% discount when purchasing certain 4G smartphone models at Viettel Store. In addition, users who successfully upgrade to 4G will receive 28GB of high-speed 4G data and one year of free access to the TV360 television viewing application…
For mountainous and border areas, Viettel Yen Minh is mobilizing maximum human resources to support people in the transition. Mr. Bui Duc Duong, Director of Viettel Yen Minh, said: "The area is vast, and people's lives are still difficult, so the transition to 2G technology in the district faces certain disadvantages."
However, with utmost determination, the unit implemented various solutions to support the people, such as assigning staff to each village and family, or combining it with meetings to communicate to the people about the 2G network shutdown roadmap. At the same time, they organized digital transformation agreements with several communes and towns to create a wider impact.
Mobile stalls have also been deployed at local markets, making it easier for people to browse various smartphone models to suit their budget and usage needs. Between now and September, the unit is determined to complete the 2G technology conversion for approximately 2,400 subscribers.
With the motto: "As technology advances, no one is left behind," Viettel Ha Giang will continue its efforts and commitment to maintaining promotional programs and strengthening communication to encourage people to proactively switch to 4G before the network shutdown deadline.
