Despite scoring 10 points in the tie-break, Do Thi Anh Nguyet was still unable to advance.

The match was dramatic right from the first round, with both players scoring a total of 25 points. Despite a good start in the second round with an arrow hitting the 10-point ring, Ánh Nguyệt lost, trailing Fallah by just one point (26-27).

In the third round, Ánh Nguyệt competed confidently, scoring 9 points on all three of her arrows (for a total of 27 points). Meanwhile, Mobina Fallah had one arrow that scored 8 points, resulting in a loss with a total of 26 points. The score between the two archers was leveled at 3-3.

A similar scenario unfolded in the next two rounds. Mobina Fallah took the lead after round 4 with a score of 29-27, but Anh Nguyet leveled the score after round 5 with a score of 27-26. At this point, the match entered a tie-break as both archers demonstrated similar skill levels, resulting in a 5-5 tie.

In the tie-break, archers fired a single shot to determine whose arrow was closer to the bullseye. Ánh Nguyệt performed well, scoring 10 points in the decisive shot, but Mobina Fallah delivered an outstanding shot, scoring 10+ points and securing the overall victory. Mobina Fallah will face Elif Berra Gokkir (Turkey) in the next round.

Earlier in the men's singles recurve archery event, Le Quoc Phong was unable to spring a surprise against Dan Olaru (Moldova). While Quoc Phong was participating in the Olympics for the first time, Dan Olaru is a seasoned athlete who served as the flag bearer for the Moldovan team in the 2012, 2020, and 2024 Olympics.

The difference in experience helped Dan Olaru shoot more consistently, leading to a 6-0 victory over three sets (each set win counted as 2 points).
