The 15th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Hai Phong City, for the term 2024-2029, is an important political event aimed at raising awareness and responsibility of the entire political system and all strata of the people in implementing the Party's guidelines and strategies on strengthening and promoting the power of national unity. The Congress will take place over two days, July 31st and August 1st, with the theme "Unity - Democracy - Innovation - Development".
During the past term, the Hai Phong City Fatherland Front organized more than 2,600 independent monitoring activities and participated in over 4,000 coordinated monitoring activities, focusing on issues and areas of concern to many citizens. Among these, monitoring the pioneering and exemplary role of cadres and Party members was a highlight of the Hai Phong Fatherland Front's activities.
Commending the achievements of the Hai Phong City Fatherland Front in the past period, Chairman Do Van Chien suggested five areas for the Congress to focus on discussing and agreeing upon for implementation.
Speaking at the Congress, Hai Phong City Party Secretary Le Tien Chau affirmed: The outstanding achievements of Hai Phong City in recent times have been significantly contributed to by the involvement and crucial role of the Fatherland Front system at all levels in the city and its member organizations.
Hai Phong City Party Secretary Le Tien Chau suggested that in the coming period, the Hai Phong City Fatherland Front should proactively seek opinions from the Party Committee and actively coordinate with the government to propose and develop work programs, especially patriotic emulation movements and campaigns that closely adhere to the city's major policies and decisions and pressing issues from the grassroots level.
“The Fatherland Front needs to select a number of key areas to develop into specialized programs to create a focal point, such as: Coordinating with local authorities to mobilize the people to comply with the Party's regulations and the State's laws on land reclamation and site clearance for the implementation of socio-economic development projects; Mobilizing the people to participate in resolving the issue of inefficient mini-water treatment plants; Building civilized and model urban areas, implementing social policies, and achieving sustainable poverty reduction…”, suggested Hai Phong City Party Secretary Le Tien Chau.
The Congress democratically elected 93 members to the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Hai Phong City, 15th term, 2024-2029; and unanimously elected the delegation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Hai Phong City to attend the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, 2024-2029, consisting of 9 official delegates and 2 alternate delegates.
Mr. Dao Trong Duc, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Group - Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Phong City, 14th term (2019-2024), was nominated by consensus to hold the position of Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Phong City, 15th term (2024-2029).
