*Pork prices in the Northern region
In the Northern pork market, the purchase price increased by 1,000 VND/kg.
Specifically, after the adjustment, the two provinces of Vinh Phuc and Hanoi are implementing the highest pork price of 66,000 VND/kg - the same as Bac Giang, Hung Yen, Phu Tho, and Tuyen Quang.
Traders in the remaining provinces and cities continued to trade live pigs at prices unchanged from yesterday morning's session.
Today's live pig price in Northern Vietnam is in the range of 64,000 - 66,000 VND/kg.
*Pork prices in the Central and Central Highlands regions
The Central and Central Highlands regions are witnessing widespread stagnation in pork prices.
Currently, live pigs in four provinces, including Quang Tri, Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa, and Dak Lak, are being purchased at a common price of 61,000 VND/kg - the lowest transaction price in the region.
The remaining provinces and cities continue to maintain stable pork prices in the range of 62,000 - 64,000 VND/kg.
Currently, the price of live pigs in the Central and Central Highlands regions is around 61,000 - 64,000 VND/kg.
*Pork prices in the Southern region
Unlike the aforementioned regions, pork prices in the South decreased slightly by 1,000 VND/kg in some areas.
Accordingly, traders in Vung Tau and Long An this morning are buying live pigs at a price of 63,000 VND/kg.
Live pig prices in other localities remained unchanged this morning.
Currently, the purchase price in the South ranges from 61,000 to 64,000 VND/kg.
China's consumer price index (CPI) for July rose 0.5% year-on-year, exceeding forecasts, primarily due to soaring pork prices, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
Pork prices in July, a popular food item in this Northeast Asian country, rose 20.4% year-on-year. This is the largest increase since December 2022.
Pork prices play a significant role in China's consumer price index, but are susceptible to factors such as disease outbreaks or changes in production.
