The Ministry of Transport has just issued a decision approving the investment project for the construction of the Dau Giay - Tan Phu expressway (phase 1) using the PPP method.

The Dau Giay - Tan Phu expressway project is expected to be substantially completed in 2026 and put into operation from 2027 (Illustrative image).
According to the approved plan, the project has a total length of over 60km.
The starting point is at Km0+000, at the intersection with National Highway 1, connecting to the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway, located in Dau Giay town, Thong Nhat district, Dong Nai province.
The endpoint is at Km60+243.83 (at the end of the intersection with National Highway 20), connecting with the Tan Phu (Dong Nai) - Bao Loc ( Lam Dong ) Expressway construction project, located in Phu Trung commune, Tan Phu district, Dong Nai province.
In Phase 1, the project was invested in with geometric elements (plan and profile) meeting the standards of a Class 100 highway, with a scale of 4 lanes and a roadbed width of 17m.
At locations involving weak soil treatment, high excavation and embankment of roadbeds, interchange areas, emergency stopping sections, and bridge structures on the expressway, the cross-section design follows the scale of the completed phase with a roadbed width of 24.75m.

Land clearance work is being carried out on a scale of 4 lanes, with a roadbed width of 24.75m. The total land area occupied is approximately 378 hectares.
With the above plan, the total investment for the project is over 8,981 billion VND. This includes: land acquisition costs of over 1,454 billion VND; construction costs of over 5,562 billion VND; equipment costs of over 200 billion VND; project management costs of over 32 billion VND; investment consulting costs of over 157 billion VND; other costs of nearly 590 billion VND; and contingency costs of over 983 billion VND.
Regarding the capital structure, the investor will raise approximately over 7,681 billion VND. The planned capital allocation is approximately 30% in 2025, 40% in 2026, and 30% in 2027.
State capital contribution to the project is approximately VND 1,300 billion, under the medium-term public investment plan using state budget funds for the period 2021-2025, approved by the Prime Minister. The planned allocation is approximately 62% in 2025 and 38% in 2026.
The project's payback period is calculated to be 18 years, 2 months, and 11 days.
The Dau Giay - Tan Phu project is a crucial component of the Dau Giay - Lien Khuong expressway. The project aims to meet transportation needs, alleviate congestion, and ensure traffic safety on National Highway 20, contributing to the integrated development of high-capacity, high-speed expressways along the Ho Chi Minh City - Dau Giay - Lien Khuong transport corridor, thereby promoting socio-economic development in Dong Nai province in particular and the Southeast region in general.
The project will also create momentum for linkages, promote cooperation and development between the Southeast region and the Mekong Delta, the Central Highlands and the South Central region; and increase the competitiveness of the economy in the context of deep integration.
