Recently, the Vietnam Computerized Lottery Company (Vietlott) has consistently found winners of Jackpot 1 and 2 prizes with significant values. Some prizes have reached tens or even hundreds of billions of VND.
In just the first half of August, Vietlott found 4 winning tickets for Jackpot 1 and 2 in both the Power 6/55 and Mega 6/45 lottery types. The total value of these 4 winning tickets for Jackpot 1 and 2 is over 284 billion VND.
Furthermore, from the beginning of July until now, which is just one and a half months, Vietlott has found 13 winning tickets for Jackpot 1 and 2 in both the Power 6/55 and Mega 6/45 lottery types, with a total value of over 335.6 billion VND.
Vietlott's semi-annual financial report shows that revenue in the first six months of this year reached over 3,250 billion VND, a 33% increase compared to the same period last year. This figure represents a record for first-half revenue since its establishment.
In its business operations, Vietlott's revenue comes not only from lottery ticket sales but also from interest earned on bank deposits. In the first six months of 2024, this amount reached nearly 27 billion VND.
Cost of goods sold also increased to over 2,704 billion VND. The majority of this was bonus payments, amounting to approximately 2,248.5 billion VND, about 559 billion VND more than the same period last year.
As a result, in the first six months of this year, Vietlott achieved nearly 212 billion VND in pre-tax profit. After deducting taxes and fees, Vietlott's after- tax profit was nearly 169.5 billion VND, an increase of 15.6% compared to the first half of 2023. This is Vietlott's highest half-year profit in the past six years.
According to the Ministry of Finance , revenue from lottery operations is estimated at 32,700 billion VND in the first seven months of the year, equivalent to 76.1% of the projected target and an increase of 14.1% compared to the same period last year.
