During the meeting, Deputy Director General Ngo Minh Hien provided an overview of the history and development of the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) over the past nearly 80 years. He also affirmed the close relationship between Vietnam and Thailand in general, and between Thai media and VOV in particular.
Mr. Ngo Minh Hien stated that France and Thailand were the first two countries where VOV established its permanent overseas bureaus. The VOV bureau in Thailand was established in 1998, and since then, VOV has sent numerous delegations to work and learn from Thailand's experience.

According to Deputy General Director Ngo Minh Hien, in the era of digital transformation, VOV is not simply a radio and television broadcaster; all of VOV's products are produced for multi-platform use. In the context of the strong development of social media, the management of journalistic activities, journalistic practices, and especially journalistic ethics are given great attention by the Vietnam Journalists Association in general and VOV in particular.
In addition, VOV has its own regulations and guidelines on journalistic ethics for its staff to follow.
Deputy Director General Ngo Minh Hien expressed his willingness to share with Thailand his experiences in managing journalistic activities, journalistic practices, and especially journalistic ethics.
Sharing the same view, Chairman of the National Press Council of Thailand, Chavarong Limpattamapanee, stated that improving journalistic ethics is a top priority for the National Press Council of Thailand and they wish to cooperate and exchange experiences with VOV on this matter.
Mr. Chavarong stated that the National Press Council of Thailand manages approximately 60% of media organizations and agencies in Thailand. However, in the context of a rapidly developing digital society, controlling social ethics, especially journalistic ethics, is crucial to ensure that information delivered to the public is diverse, multi-faceted, and accurate.
"We plan to hold a workshop soon, inviting media agencies from ASEAN countries to share their experiences on managing journalistic ethics. We look forward to consulting with VOV," Mr. Chavarong Limpattamapanee emphasized.
At the same time, Mr. Chavarong Limpattamapanee expressed his desire to strengthen external connections between media agencies to promote cooperative relations between Vietnamese and Thai journalism.
