On the morning of August 14th, in Hanoi , the Pakistani Embassy held a ceremony to commemorate the 77th anniversary of Pakistan's Independence Day (August 14, 1947 - August 14, 2024). His Excellency Kohdayar Marri, the Pakistani Ambassador to Vietnam, presided over the ceremony.

Attending the ceremony were: Journalist and photographer Ho Sy Minh, Standing Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, Editor-in-Chief of Photography and Life Magazine; journalist and poet Huu Viet, Head of the Culture and Arts Department of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Foreign Relations Department of the Vietnam Writers Association ...
At the ceremony, Mr. Marri shared: August 14th is Pakistan's Independence Day, commemorating the day Pakistan gained independence and was declared a sovereign nation after the United Kingdom ended its colonial rule in 1947. Pakistan officially separated from India, becoming an independent nation.


According to Pakistani custom, all government offices and private homes are decorated with lights and flowers. Everyone decorates their homes. Shopping malls and government offices must display the national flag, banners, lights, and balloons, especially in blue and white (like the colors of the national flag). Every year on this day, cities and villages throughout Pakistan become bustling with activity.
At the ceremony, Ambassador Marri also extended his best wishes to the delegates in attendance; and expressed his gratitude to the Government and people of Vietnam for their continued support and assistance to Pakistan throughout its establishment and development.

At the ceremony, delegates participated in the raising of the Pakistani flag, met, interacted, and chatted; they exchanged wishes for good luck, happiness, and peace.
