- On the morning of April 29, at Huu Nghi International Border Gate, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lang Son province held a ceremony to announce a 2-day, 1-night tour program for tourists using travel documents in Lang Son province (Vietnam) and Pingxiang town, Guangxi (China).
Attending the program on the side of Lang Son province (Vietnam) were representatives of leaders of some provincial departments, branches, sectors, Van Lang district People's Committee; representatives of Cao Loc district People's Committee, Lang Son city, Provincial Tourism Association, travel association, and some provincial travel businesses.
On the Chinese side, there were representatives of the leaders and people's government of Pingxiang town; representatives of the travel business association, travel businesses; and artists and actors from Pingxiang town, Guangxi, China.
On February 18, 2025, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lang Son Province, Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Department of Culture and Tourism, Sports Bureau of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, People's Republic of China signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in promoting the development of culture, sports and tourism. On March 11, 2025, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lang Son Province (Vietnam) and the People's Government of Pingxiang City, Guangxi (China) had a meeting and agreed to implement a 2-day, 1-night tour program for tourists using a travel pass.
The announcement ceremony is a groundbreaking event between the two governments: Lang Son province (Vietnam) and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China), opening up an easy journey to explore the tourist attractions and cuisine of some districts and cities of Lang Son province (Vietnam) and tourist attractions of Pingxiang town (Guangxi, China).
The implementation of the 2-day, 1-night travel program using a passport is a practical result of a long-term cooperation process, an important step in realizing the contents agreed upon at the Spring Meeting and meetings of the Joint Working Committee between senior leaders of Vietnam's border provinces of Lang Son, Quang Ninh, Cao Bang, Ha Giang and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China.
Accordingly, to experience the 2-day, 1-night tour program, visitors only need a valid border pass to easily experience cross-border tourism, with many flexible and attractive options from travel businesses on both sides.
At the program, delegates pressed the button to officially announce the 2-day, 1-night tour program for tourists using the passport. At the same time, leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lang Son province (Vietnam) and leaders of Pingxiang town, Guangxi (China) presented flowers and souvenirs to the first group of Vietnamese and Chinese tourists participating in the 2-day, 1-night tour program using the passport.
With the message "Lang Son - a safe, civilized and friendly destination", the program is expected to become a bridge for unique cultural and tourism exchanges, meeting the increasing needs of tourists from both countries in learning and experiencing the nature, people and cuisine of the border area, thereby contributing to strengthening friendship, people-to-people exchange, promoting socio-economic development, especially the service, trade and tourism sectors in the border area.
