Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai affirmed that the city implements Resolution 98 with a spirit of fierce attack, leaving no room for officials to be afraid to do or refuse to do.

On the afternoon of July 13, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee held an information conference to implement Resolution No. 98/2023/QH15 of the National Assembly on piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Ho Chi Minh City (Resolution 98). Comrade Phan Van Mai, member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee chaired.

Attending the conference were leaders of the Southern Standing Agency, the Central Propaganda Department; the Office of the Ministry of Information and Communications; the Vietnam Journalists Association and leaders of central press agencies and representative offices.

Providing information about the outstanding mechanisms and policies in Resolution 98, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai emphasized that Resolution 98 provides Ho Chi Minh City with great mechanisms and policies. When implemented, the resolution will help Ho Chi Minh City overcome many difficulties and obstacles; at the same time, create new driving forces for the city's development, especially policy mechanisms such as TOD and PPP.

In addition, the mechanisms and policies of decentralization and delegation of authority from the Central Government to Ho Chi Minh City and from Ho Chi Minh City to localities and departments will clearly define the authority and responsibility of each unit and individual.

Comrade Phan Van Mai added that recently the city has focused on implementing Resolution 98. Specifically, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has a plan, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council has issued Resolution No. 18/NQ-HDND dated July 10 on implementing Resolution 98, and the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee has a directive on organizing the dissemination of Resolution 98.

To successfully implement Resolution 98, the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee emphasized that first of all, the city must be proactive, in addition to needing the support of the Central Government, businesses, people and press and radio agencies.

According to him, Ho Chi Minh City is determined to implement Resolution 98 with a spirit of fierce attack, leaving no room for cadres to be afraid to do or refuse to do. The city will urge, inspect, and have clear rewards and disciplines.

In addition, Ho Chi Minh City is developing a project to build an excellent Ho Chi Minh City civil service, researching and implementing policies on income, housing and training to attract talent.
