Chairman of Vinh Phuc Provincial People's Committee Tran Duy Dong works with the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Korcham) in Vietnam

The meeting between Chairman of Vinh Phuc Provincial People's Committee Tran Duy Dong and the Korean Business Association (Korcham) in Vietnam on the late afternoon of August 8, 2024 was considered a "meeting of friends".

“Enterprises coming to Vinh Phuc are friends of Vinh Phuc. If you have any problems or difficulties, please contact the provincial departments and branches as well as contact me directly for solutions,” Chairman Tran Duy Dong said to Korean enterprises participating in the meeting.

This is Mr. Tran Duy Dong's first meeting as Chairman of Vinh Phuc Provincial People's Committee with a foreign business association. He said that the province's general orientation in attracting investment is currently to prioritize high-tech projects, mechanical engineering, and supporting industries. Production projects will focus on industrial parks to ensure the provision of supporting infrastructure, electricity, water, telecommunications, wastewater management systems, etc. according to the standards and requirements of businesses.

“Vinh Phuc has planned 27 industrial parks. Of these, 9 are already in operation, and 5 are completing infrastructure. We will work with EVN to ensure sufficient electricity. The government has determined to energize the 500kV line 3 in September, and the province is building 2 transformer stations. Along with that, the province will focus on implementing plans to train human resources, especially human resources for the high-tech industry and semiconductor industry...”, Mr. Dong pledged.

In particular, he mentioned the advantages in tourism development of Vinh Phuc with Korean investors.

“Vinh Phuc has Tam Dao, which has many unique tourist attractions. Besides investing in industries, we hope that Korean investors will invest in the tourism sector, such as the thematic park project, to work with the province to improve the tourism industry,” Chairman Tran Duy Dong emphasized.

Korean investors top the top 20 regions and territories with investment projects in Vinh Phuc.

In the delegation, there are businesses that are investing and doing business in Vinh Phuc, and businesses that are exploring opportunities. Mr. Hong Sun, Chairman of the Korean Business Association in Vietnam, even said that in the near future, many Korean businesses will come to Vietnam and Vinh Phuc.

“Korcham has just organized a number of seminars on high-tech and semiconductor technology. Many businesses are interested. I believe there will be more new investors coming to Vinh Phuc,” Mr. Hong Sun shared.

Therefore, information about the province's attraction orientation in the coming time and the commitments to support and take care of investors by Chairman Tran Duy Dong sent a very positive message.

Up to now, Vinh Phuc province has 238 investment projects from Korean investors, with a total capital of more than 3 billion USD, ranking first in terms of registered investment capital in the list of 20 regions/territories with investment projects in Vinh Phuc.

Korean investment projects in Vinh Phuc are currently mainly in the fields of textiles, automobile and motorbike manufacturing, electricity and electronics manufacturing, and trade services. In particular, the main focus is on the supporting industry of electricity, electronics, and services related to import-export activities and trading of electronic products.
