The ceremony was also attended directly by about 3,000 people, tourists and a large audience watching on television.

In his speech commemorating the 50th anniversary of the province's Liberation Day, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Hoai Anh emotionally reviewed the heroic history of the army and people of Binh Thuan. Despite suffering many losses in two long resistance wars, Binh Thuan still maintained its indomitable spirit, contributing to the defeat of all war strategies of the US imperialists. From the 1968 Mau Than General Offensive to the victory at the Paris negotiation table, Binh Thuan has carved its name in the history of the nation as a loyal, heroic land, shining with revolutionary traditions. In December 1974, in the last fierce days of the resistance war against the US, from the mountains of Tanh Linh to the plains of Ham Thuan, the army and people of Binh Thuan rose up, gradually breaking the siege, expanding the liberated area. In less than 4 months, with the spirit of speed, boldness, and determination to win, the local armed forces coordinated with the main force to achieve a resounding victory: at 9:00 a.m. on April 19, 1975, Binh Thuan was completely liberated, contributing a fiery attack to the map of the Great Spring Victory of 1975. During the long and heroic resistance war of the nation, Binh Thuan had nearly 10,000 martyrs, 4,000 wounded soldiers; 2,131 mothers were awarded or posthumously awarded the title of Heroic Vietnamese Mother by the State; more than 80 collectives and individuals were awarded or posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces. Notably, on December 20, 1979, the Party and State awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces to the army and people of Binh Thuan province.

Over the past 50 years, especially after 33 years of re-establishing Binh Thuan province (from 1992 to present), under the leadership of the Party Central Committee, the Politburo, and the support of the Central Committees, Ministries, and branches, Binh Thuan has strived to rise from a poor province with an underdeveloped economy, low budget revenue, weak infrastructure, and many difficulties in people's lives, to now developing quite comprehensively. The annual GRDP growth rate has always been quite good; by the end of 2024, the economic scale of Binh Thuan province will be more than 33 times larger than at the time of re-establishment of the province (in 1992), reaching more than 128.7 trillion VND, ranking 26th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide. GRDP per capita reached 101.7 million VND; Per capita income in 2024 will reach 58.9 million VND, 43.6% higher than in 1992. Infrastructure is focused on investment, domestic and foreign traffic is smoothly connected with roads, railways, waterways and soon, airways. The appearance of urban and rural areas has improved a lot. Up to now, the province has 2 districts and 79/93 communes meeting new rural standards; 14 communes meeting advanced new rural standards and 4 communes meeting model new rural standards. In the past 10 years, Binh Thuan has strongly innovated the growth model, rapidly transformed the economic structure, improved productivity, quality, efficiency and competitiveness; focused on developing 3 economic pillars in the direction of reducing the proportion of agriculture, increasing the proportion of industry and services...

Comrade Nguyen Hoai Anh, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee emphasized: “Looking to the future, in the context of merging provincial administrative units, we will have more brothers to unite, be of one mind, and join hands to overcome difficulties and challenges, promote potentials and advantages in a larger space to develop more strongly for the prosperity and happiness of the people, for the growth of the country in the era of the rise of the Vietnamese nation. He emphasized: Our country is striving to enter a new era - an era of national growth, an era of prosperity and strength. Therefore, entering a new phase, the locality should not only stop at the achievements that have been achieved but also aim for higher goals: Becoming a national energy center, an international tourism center, developing a sustainable marine economy, building a modern urban area that is still in harmony with nature, improving the quality of life for the people. In that spirit, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh suggested that Binh Thuan province focus on organizing Party Congresses at all levels in accordance with Directive No. 45 of the Politburo on Party Congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Congress of the Party. Promote democracy, strengthen solidarity within the Party, resolutely and promptly implement the Central Committee's policies on restructuring and streamlining the apparatus, building a 2-level government model.
