In his welcoming speech, President Luong Cuong emphasized that the presence of representatives from other countries doubled the joy of the great festival of the Vietnamese people.

On the evening of April 29, in Ho Chi Minh City, President Luong Cuong hosted a solemn reception for heads of delegations from friendly countries and political parties coming to Vietnam to attend the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

Attending the reception were General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith; President of the Cambodian People's Party and President of the Cambodian Senate Samdech Techo Hun Sen; Vice President of Cuba Salvador Valdes Mesa, along with leaders, representatives of countries, political parties and friends from many countries around the world.

The great victory of Spring 1975, a great victory in the history of thousands of years of struggle to build and defend the country of the Vietnamese people, "will forever be recorded in the history of the nation as one of the most brilliant pages, a shining symbol of the complete victory of revolutionary heroism and human intelligence, and will go down in world history as a great feat of the 20th century."

That great victory marked the day Vietnam was reunified - North and South reunited, opening a new era - the era of independence, unity, and the whole country moving towards socialism.

In his welcoming speech, on behalf of the leaders of the Party, State and people of Vietnam, President Luong Cuong warmly welcomed and thanked the leaders of countries and international friends for attending the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification in Ho Chi Minh City; emphasizing that the presence of representatives of countries has doubled the joy of the great festival of the Vietnamese people.

The President emphasized that today's great victory day of the Vietnamese nation is an occasion for the Vietnamese people to remember and show gratitude for the great contributions of the great President Ho Chi Minh, previous leaders, heroes, martyrs, compatriots and comrades who fought, devoted and sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the nation, for the happiness of the people.

Along with that, this is also an opportunity for the Party, State and people of Vietnam to express gratitude for the valuable, wholehearted, righteous and effective support and assistance of fraternal socialist countries, international friends and peace-loving people around the world.

Affirming that Vietnam is currently full of determination and hope to enter a new era, an era of striving for rich and prosperous development, the President hopes to continue receiving valuable support and close and effective cooperation from international friends.

At the reception, the invited delegates also enjoyed a special concert program with folk melodies, Hue royal court music, and solo performances of traditional musical instruments, praising the beautiful, peaceful, and hospitable Vietnam, performed by the Lotus Folk Music and Dance Theater and the Ho Chi Minh City Symphony, Music, and Ballet Theater./.
