Ca Mau is not only known as a sacred place associated with the geographical location in the southernmost part of the country, but also a fertile land, converging all the conditions for sustainable economic development. During the 50 years since the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country, Ca Mau has constantly transformed itself, gradually affirming its position in the Mekong Delta region, especially in attracting investment for socio-economic development.
Ca Mau has a special geographical location, with 3 sides facing the sea, the second largest mangrove ecosystem in the country and a sea area of over 71,000 km². This is a great advantage for developing marine economy, aquaculture, renewable energy and ecotourism. Not only does it have abundant aquatic resources and large land suitable for high-tech agriculture, Ca Mau is also a rare province with the potential to simultaneously develop wind power, solar power and LNG power.
In recent years, the province has recorded a marked increase in the number and scale of investment projects. Key projects such as the Ca Mau LNG Power Plant, coastal wind farms in Dam Doi, Ngoc Hien, or the super-intensive shrimp farming area applying high technology, have contributed to changing the local economic landscape.
"Ca Mau province does not have many favorable conditions for transportation like other localities, but it has very unique potential. The important thing is to know how to exploit it effectively and have appropriate policies to attract strategic investors," said Mr. Ngo Van Huynh, Deputy Director of the Department of Finance.

Accompanying businesses
In order to promote its strengths and attract development resources, Ca Mau province has issued many preferential policies, continuously reformed its administration, improved service quality and created a transparent and open investment environment.
Mr. Ngo Van Huynh said that the province clearly identifies the spirit of accompanying businesses as the core of its investment attraction policy. Businesses are not only investors, but also partners, a force accompanying local authorities in economic development. Therefore, Ca Mau is always proactive in listening, removing difficulties and creating the most favorable conditions for investors to implement projects quickly and effectively. The province is implementing a series of preferential policies on tax, land and administrative procedures. Specifically, for corporate income tax, the rate is 10-17% during the preferential period, exempted for 2-4 years, reduced by 50% in the following years, depending on the investment sector and location. Exemption and reduction of land rent for projects in investment incentive sectors such as clean energy, seafood processing, eco-tourism. Applying the one-stop model, shortening the time to process investment dossiers from 30 days to less than 15 working days.
According to statistics from the Department of Finance, up to now, the province has more than 320 valid investment projects, with a total registered capital of nearly 100,000 billion VND. Of which, the most prominent are projects in fields such as renewable energy, aquaculture and high-tech agriculture...
Mr. Ngo Van Huynh commented that Ca Mau is one of the leading localities in the country in offshore wind power, with dozens of projects approved for investment. Regarding aquaculture and high-tech agriculture, many large enterprises have invested in the high-tech shrimp farming - processing - export chain, bringing sustainable export value. Or in terms of eco-tourism and resorts, with prominent destinations such as: Mui Ca Mau National Park, U Minh Ha forest, Thi Tuong lagoon, the province is calling for investment in community tourism areas associated with nature conservation.
“We not only attract capital, but also aim to attract investors with long-term vision, financial and technological capacity to develop together with Ca Mau in a green and sustainable direction,” Mr. Huynh emphasized.

Infrastructure breakthrough - expanding connectivity
Realizing the role of infrastructure in attracting investment, in recent years, Ca Mau has been promoting investment in the construction of key projects such as: Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway (section through Hau Giang - Bac Lieu - Ca Mau) to help shorten the connection time from Ho Chi Minh City to Ca Mau; Ca Mau airport is being upgraded to a level 4C airport, aiming to open more international flights in the future; Hon Khoai general seaport and Nam Can port are planned to be modern, serving the transportation of goods and passengers by sea.
The completion of infrastructure not only helps Ca Mau increase its competitiveness in attracting investment but also creates favorable conditions for the circulation of goods, promoting regional connectivity with the provinces of the Mekong Delta.

Towards 2030 and beyond, with a vision to 2045, Ca Mau aims to become a dynamically developing locality with a green economy, clean industry, high-quality services and tourism, and modern technology-based agriculture. In particular, private investment is considered the main driving force for growth.
“The province will continue to improve institutions, improve the quality of the team working to support businesses, proactively call for and promote investment in a selective manner, taking efficiency and sustainability as criteria,” Mr. Huynh affirmed.
In the joyful atmosphere of the whole country celebrating the 50th anniversary of the complete liberation of the South and national reunification, Ca Mau province is not only proud of its achievements but also affirms its determination to innovate in management, economic development and international integration.
From a land once considered remote and isolated, Ca Mau today has risen to become an attractive investment destination in the region. With a clear development strategy, transparent investment environment, flexible support mechanisms and strong commitment from the government, Ca Mau is gradually creating attractiveness for large investors, helping the Cape take off in the integration period.
