According to the Department of Culture and Sports of Hue city, this locality is preserving a rich and diverse cultural heritage system with many different types, widely distributed throughout the area.
The entire city of Hue currently has 8 heritages recognized by UNESCO; 3 systems of special national relics, 89 national relics and 106 provincial relics; 278 works and locations in the inventory list of relics approved and announced by the People's Committee of Hue city.

In Hue, there are also 6 national intangible cultural heritages along with thousands of treasures, documentary heritages, antiques, and especially rare tangible cultural heritages.
According to a representative of the Cultural Heritage Management Office, under the Department of Culture and Sports of Hue City, over time, under the impact and influence of various factors, many relics in the area have degraded and need to be restored and repaired.
In 2020, Hue City issued a project to support investment in preserving, renovating and restoring 123 relics outside the Hue Monuments Complex, to be implemented over 10 years. During the 2021-2025 period, 39 relics under the project have been renovated and restored, with a total cost of more than 124 billion VND.
To date, only one tunnel in the Nine Tunnels relic system has been restored and embellished (Photo: Vi Thao).
However, the work of preserving and restoring the relic system outside the Hue ancient capital relic complex is still limited, the number of works needing restoration is still large and continues to increase.
Typically, the two national relics Chin Ham and Ngo Dinh Can's memorial house (also known as the abandoned villa of the "Central lord", in An Tay ward, Thuan Hoa district) have many damaged and degraded items. Of the Chin Ham system, only 1 cellar has been repaired and restored, the rest have become ruins.
According to the project, these two works will receive funding for restoration and embellishment in the period 2026-2028. However, due to the serious deterioration of the relic, the Hue City Museum of History has requested to adjust the implementation time to the period 2021-2025.
The management unit has established a project to restore and embellish the two above-mentioned relics and submitted it to competent authorities for consideration, but it has not yet been approved.
Another project that has been included in the list of projects to be implemented in the 2021-2022 period is the Thanh Loi archaeological site. However, the project has not yet been approved by the authorities and funding has not been allocated for implementation.

According to a representative of the Hue City Cultural Heritage Management Department, this relic has a large area, many locations have faded traces, and need to survey and evaluate the entire system, so up to now, no restoration or repair has been carried out.
On the other hand, due to the fact that resources have not met practical requirements, annual arrangements have not been timely. The support policy framework according to the project issued since 2020 is no longer suitable for the current exchange rate period.
Therefore, the work of preserving, repairing and restoring relics will be carried out according to a roadmap and stages, with priority given to more urgent matters.
