House and Bunker D67 are important revolutionary relics in the Thang Long Imperial Citadel Heritage Site. The relic is associated with the activities of the Politburo, the Central Military Commission, the Minister of National Defense, and the Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army. Here, from September 1968 to April 30, 1975, the supreme command: the Politburo of the Vietnam Workers' Party (since 1976, the Communist Party of Vietnam), the Central Military Commission, and the General Command of the Vietnam People's Army focused their intelligence, proposed correct and creative strategic policies and strategies, leading our people to the final victory of the resistance war against the US to save the country.

Speaking at the exhibition, Director of the Thang Long – Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center Nguyen Thanh Quang said that April 30, 1975 has become a brilliant milestone in the history of the Vietnamese nation. That great victory affirms the truth: under the talented leadership of the Party, with the indomitable will, passionate patriotism and the strength of solidarity of the entire nation, we have completed the cause of liberating the South, unifying the country, bringing the country back together, opening a new era – the era of independence, freedom and socialism.

The journey to the great Spring victory was the crystallization of countless hardships and sacrifices, but it was also an immortal heroic epic of Vietnamese courage and intelligence. The historic decisions made from House and Bunker D67 led the resistance to miraculous victory, creating a historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign, with the spirit of "lightning speed, daring, surprise, sure victory".

“This is not only an opportunity for us to review the glorious pages of history, to pay tribute to generations of heroic martyrs who have fallen for peace and freedom, but also an endless source of inspiration, fostering love for the Fatherland, national pride, and giving strength to today's generation to firmly build and protect the country in the new era - the era of the Vietnamese people's rise,” said Mr. Nguyen Thanh Quang.

The exhibition “The Road to Reunification” displays more than 200 valuable documents and images, vividly recreating the decisive sprint period from after the Paris Agreement (1973) to the day of total victory in the Spring of 1975.

The exhibition is divided into three main themes: “Strategic decisions of the General Headquarters”, “One day equals 20 years”, and “Advancing to Saigon”.

In the topic “Strategic decisions of the General Headquarters”, the Organizing Committee introduced the revolutionary situation of our country since the Paris Agreement was signed in 1973. Although facing many difficulties, the resistance of our army and people is facing a great opportunity. Based on the analysis and assessment of the situation with many changes favorable to the revolution, from the General Headquarters, the Politburo and the Central Military Commission made strategic decisions for the Vietnamese revolution, affirming “Firmly following the path of violent revolution, maintaining the offensive strategy, grasping the opportunity, and giving flexible direction to bring the revolution to complete victory”.

The exhibition space “One day equals 20 years” includes photos showing the realization of the policy of the Politburo and the Central Military Commission. Our army and people entered the General Offensive and Uprising in the Spring of 1975 with the pace of “One day equals 20 years”. Our fight developed at a “lightning speed” with consecutive victories from the battlefields: Route 14 - Phuoc Long, Tay Nguyen, Tri Thien Hue, Da Nang.

In the theme “Advancing to Saigon”, seizing the opportunity, the Politburo directed the entire army and people to enter the final strategic battle, with the spirit of “speed, boldness, surprise, sure victory”, launching a general offensive to liberate Saigon. At 11:30 a.m. on April 30, 1975, President of the Saigon government Duong Van Minh was forced to declare unconditional surrender. The Ho Chi Minh Campaign was a complete victory, the country was unified, and the country was reunited.

The exhibition is open to visitors from April 28 to May 31, 2025 at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel Heritage Site.

On this occasion, the Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center also implemented a plan to comprehensively renovate the House and Tunnel D67 relic, researched the restoration of the original color of the relic; initially implemented the project "Application of information technology to interpret the revolutionary relic House and Tunnel D67", partly sponsored by the Vingroup Innovation Fund (VinIF).

Focusing on the following contents: Research, synthesis, analysis of historical documents and collection of additional documents related to the D67 House and Bunker relic; building a historical database at the D67 House and Bunker as the Headquarters of the Vietnam People's Army from 1968 - 1975; building an explanatory script about the D67 House and Bunker relic; building multimedia content and 3D films introducing the history of the resistance war against the US to save the country associated with the D67 House and Bunker relic.

Based on the research results, it is possible to apply information technology to introduce from general to detailed information about the D67 House and Tunnel; the role of the D67 House and Tunnel in the resistance war against the US to save the country; build a new and creative interpretation method, meeting the needs of learning and increasing the experience of tourists, especially young people when visiting the Thang Long Imperial Citadel heritage site.

During the project implementation, the story “House and Tunnel D67, the journey to victory” will be interpreted using modern technology, contributing to preserving and honoring the value of the relic, bringing visitors authentic and attractive experiences.
