Located at the foot of Long Doi Son mountain, to the south of the capital, the cultural tourism complex of Sun Mega City will be the coordinates that Sun Group dedicates to honoring all those precious values as a way to preserve the thousands of years of heroic history of a nation that is reaching out to a new era.
Thang Long Imperial Citadel - "Great Treasure"
In 1010, King Ly Cong Uan moved the capital from Hoa Lu (Ninh Binh) to Thang Long, building a new citadel according to the "three-layer citadel" model, including the Forbidden City, the Imperial City and the Imperial Citadel. Thang Long Citadel was continuously expanded through the Ly - Tran - Le dynasties. That was also the most glorious period of Vietnam's feudal history.
Thang Long Imperial Citadel - a place that preserves the identity and memories of thousands of years of Vietnamese history.
Over time, the majestic citadels and purple pavilions have receded into the past. But this place is still a legendary witness of history, telling the next generation the story of ancient Thang Long - a capital that has constantly changed through the ages, and also about the Vietnamese people's persistent spirit of building and defending the country. In 2009, the central area of Thang Long Imperial Citadel - Hanoi was ranked as a special national monument and was listed by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage in 2010. Thang Long Imperial Citadel has gone beyond the categories of national "treasures" to become a "world treasure" - a place that preserves the identity and memories of thousands of years of Vietnamese history.
Bridging the past, present and future
The book Dai Viet Su Ky Toan Thu recorded: "In the autumn of the seventh month of the year Canh Tuat (1010), the king moved the capital from Hoa Lu to Dai La. The boat temporarily stopped under the citadel, a golden dragon appeared on the royal boat, so it was renamed Thang Long citadel". It can be seen that King Ly Cong Uan and his mandarins traveled by boat along the waterway and left at the end of summer. The route is said to have started from going up the Day River to Phu Ly, turning into the Chau Giang River, then going to other rivers to return to Thang Long.
Tourist complex with detailed reconstruction of Thang Long Imperial Citadel and life in the Ly - Tran dynasties 1,000 years ago at Sun Mega City
Not far from Phu Ly and the Chau Giang River, at Long Doi Son Pagoda in Ha Nam , a nearly 1,000-year-old pagoda, there is a stone stele clearly recording the history of the Ly and Tran dynasties. The ancient stele is considered a unique treasure of Doi Pagoda - a unique work of sculpture from the Ly Dynasty. This is also the only remaining original document from the Ly Dynasty mentioning the Thang Long Capital.
Carrying the sacred imprint of Long Doi Son - the Buddhist center in the ancient Son Nam town along with the remaining records on the Sung Thien Dien Linh stele, the cultural tourism complex recreating the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long was painstakingly researched and planned by Sun Group to be built at Sun Mega City , right at the foot of Long Doi Son mountain - a coordinate rich in historical significance. For a long time, one of the most familiar materials appearing in all forums or even major events of the country is culture, history and patriotism. Never before have the two words "origin" been so widely popularized, and national pride spread so strongly.
The Military Zone of the Ancient Citadel is recreated
“As the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong said, “As long as culture exists, the nation exists”, filtering and preserving the quintessence of the nation is what we always care about on the journey of “Beautifying the lands”. That is also the driving force that urges us to join hands to build a bridge back to history at the super urban area Sun Mega City.” The chief architect of the complex recreating Thang Long Imperial Citadel shared. At the same time, he could not hide his excitement when having the opportunity to share about the “Thang Long dream” - where talented architects with a passion for traditional culture will join hands to reconstruct the shape of the once-famous Thang Long Citadel in the South of the capital.
Creating an “iconic” cultural and historical destination of Vietnam
Developed on a scale of 1,690 hectares, Sun Mega City is not only the largest metropolis in the North, a symbol of a prosperous life, but also a place to recreate the colorful traditional culture. Accordingly, the "soul" of the project is a cultural tourism complex that recreates the detailed architecture of the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long and life in the Ly - Tran dynasties 1,000 years ago, where visitors "enter a journey back in time" to feel a part of the quintessence of the Vietnamese land. The stone-paved roads, majestic gates, magnificent palaces, and the vital To Lich River... will be recreated with the colorful rhythm of the past. That is the tranquility of the countryside, the cheerfulness of the city, the authority and luxury of the upper-class aristocratic area and the bustling space on the wharf and under the boats...
Dien Huu Pagoda - an iconic architectural work of the Ly Dynasty will be meticulously reconstructed.
All create a traditional atmosphere, where visitors can not only visit and learn about history but also participate in activities such as pottery, royal dance or enjoy cuisine.
Also here, visitors will have the opportunity to directly explore the meticulously recreated appearance of the works that were once the "pride" of royal architecture such as Dai Hung Gate, Ngu Phuong Tinh Lau, Bell Tower and Drum Tower, Phung Thien Palace - Chinh Duong Tower, Dai Khanh Phong, Quan Van - Quoc Tu Giam... especially the Forbidden City of Thang Long with important palaces, palaces and towers.
Not only stopping at architecture, in the "giant" 32,000m2 Square area, Sun Group also brings to this special "capital" a series of art shows, traditional festivals, cultural events and interactive activities to simulate the cultural life of the Ly - Tran dynasties.
Sun Mega City super urban area will bring "symbolic cultural tourism complex" to the South of Hanoi
Following the river surrounding the Imperial Citadel, Sun Group will bring the Bach Dang show - a live performance with a 10,000m2 water stage simulating the legendary victory on the Bach Dang River of Ngo Quyen in the past. Along with that, traditional festivals such as the sparkling flower lantern festival, the Quang Chieu lantern festival will also be held annually... creating a multi-sensory feast of water, light and sound, along with sublimation of art and culture. With the smooth combination of ancient architecture and modern technology and 3D lighting, life 1,000 years ago will be "painted" in the most "realistic" way.
“ Sun Mega City aims to become a new “cultural icon” of Vietnam, an unprecedented historical and cultural destination. This will be a place where the past is vividly recreated, where domestic and foreign tourists can touch the quintessence of national culture through unique and overwhelming experiences. And it is also where Sun Group realizes its big dream of “building a bridge between the past and the present”, with a vision of respecting and listening to the message of history and the origin that a national enterprise always needs to elevate Vietnam's position on the regional and world tourism map.” - Sun Group representative emphasized.
