Three localities complete removal of temporary and dilapidated houses

By the end of April 26, three localities had completed the removal of temporary and dilapidated houses: Bac Ninh, Thai Nguyen and Can Tho.

Information on the results of the implementation of the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses by the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions shows that 3 localities have completed the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses: Bac Ninh, Thai Nguyen and Can Tho.

Four other localities registered to complete in April 2025: Khanh Hoa, Binh Phuoc, Tay Ninh and Vinh Long. In addition, six other localities registered to complete in May 2025.

By April 26, 2025, the whole country had supported the elimination of 208,357 temporary and dilapidated houses. Of these, 108,956 houses were inaugurated and 99,401 houses were under construction or under construction.

Specifically, housing support for people with revolutionary contributions is 25,356 units, housing support under two national target programs is 59,054 units and the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses is 123,947 units.

On April 23, 2025, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh issued Decision No. 808/QD-TTg on strengthening the Central Steering Committee to implement the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide.

Accordingly, the Head of the Steering Committee is Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. The three Deputy Heads are: Do Van Chien, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Nguyen Hoa Binh, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister; Dao Ngoc Dung, Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions.

The Steering Committee also has 13 members. They are: Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense; Luong Tam Quang, Minister of Public Security; Nguyen Van Thang, Minister of Finance; Tran Hong Minh, Minister of Construction; Tran Van Son, Minister, Head of the Government Office; Do Duc Duy, Minister of Agriculture and Environment; Pham Thi Thanh Tra, Minister of Home Affairs; Nguyen Thi Hong, Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam; Nguyen Thanh Lam, General Director of Vietnam Television; Do Tien Sy, General Director of the Voice of Vietnam; Vu Viet Trang, General Director of Vietnam News Agency; To Thi Bich Chau, Vice President, Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Nong Thi Ha, Deputy Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions.

The Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions was assigned by the Prime Minister to be the standing agency of the Steering Committee.

In addition, this agency also sent a document requesting the Provincial Steering Committee and the Provincial People's Committee to review the need to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses as a basis for reporting to the Prime Minister and the Head of the Steering Committee on the plan to handle funds from the 5% savings in regular expenditure in 2024 and funds mobilized from the Launch Program.
