Targeting civil servants and public employees - those who are expected to contribute to the socio-economic development of Vietnam. JDS is a full scholarship program, including tuition, round-trip airfare, monthly living expenses and other allowances.
The JDS scholarship using Japanese government grant aid has been continuously implemented in Vietnam since 2000, providing 831 master's scholarships and 26 doctoral scholarships for Vietnam.
Under the current Program framework, JDS will provide scholarships to study 2-year Master's courses in English and 3-year PhD courses in English or Japanese in various fields, including Economics, Transportation/Urban Development, Energy, Human Resource Development for Industrial Development, Health Care/Social Security, Agriculture and Rural Development, Environment, Response to Climate Change and Environmental Disasters, Strengthening the Legal System, and Strengthening Public Administration Capacity at leading universities in Japan.
Information on the Programme Framework is attached. The deadline for applications is 17:00 on 19 March 2025 for master's degrees and 17:00 on 11 April 2025 for doctoral degrees.
It is expected that the 45 best master's candidates and the 5 best doctoral candidates will be selected by the end of May 2025 and depart for Japan to attend courses in August 2025.

JDS Vietnam Program Framework
1. Doctorate
Doctoral Program Framework: There are 5 quotas for doctoral programs, and the number of places accepted by each university is not fixed. Applicants can apply to any university in Japan that offers courses that match the majors in the table above.
