In recent days, taking advantage of the sunny weather, Deo Ca contractor mobilized hundreds of workers and machines to focus on constructing the Song Ve bridge project.

On the 610m long bridge project across the Ve River connecting Hanh Phuoc and Hanh Thinh communes (Nghia Hanh district, Quang Ngai), the sound of construction machinery and equipment is always rumbling.

After completing the construction of the bridge deck's steel structure, recently the Deo Ca contractor has been increasing the number of personnel to speed up the construction of the bridge deck.

Under the hot summer sun, workers are still working hard at the construction site with the goal of completing the bridge deck as soon as possible to focus on constructing the railings and asphalt.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Lan, a worker at the construction site, said that despite the hot weather, everyone was encouraged to overcome it and focus on completing the project.

"We divided into teams to take turns working. Everyone is afraid of the sun and the difficulties, so when will the bridge be finished and the road opened? I work not only to support my family but also to be responsible for my work and for this key national project," Lan confided.

Not only do they work during the day, but when night falls, the night shift teams get back to work. Concrete trucks keep arriving, batches of concrete are dumped, and the masons get to work leveling and compacting.

The work of pouring concrete for the surface of the Ve River bridge is being urgently deployed.

The silence of the night was broken by the sound of compactors, concrete pumps and the cheerful laughter of the bridge workers. Although everyone was drenched in sweat and their clothes were soaked, the workers rushed to work wherever the concrete pump truck went.

From afar, the electric lights on the bridge look like flickering flames, but at the construction site of the Ve River Bridge, dozens of workers are still working hard with the spirit of "overcoming the sun and rain" for the day of the finish line.

It is known that Song Ve bridge has an investment capital of 177 billion VND, is the largest bridge item on the Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon expressway. The bridge project has 14 piers and 2 abutments. Of which, there are 15 main spans, to construct the project, the contractor must cast 105 super T beams, all of which are cast by the contractor at the casting yard right at the foot of the project.

According to the leader of the construction management board, up to now, the Ve River Bridge has completed 11/15 bridge decks and is taking advantage of favorable weather to complete all main items of the project before the rainy season to clear the service road to clear the flood when the rainy season comes.

Song Ve Bridge has basically completed 11/15 deck girder spans and Deo Ca contractor is striving to complete it in September 2024.

"We are racing against time to complete the bridge deck, railings and asphalt concrete paving, completing the project as soon as possible to ensure the capital plan and technically open the project to traffic by the end of the year," said the executive board leader.

Focus on completing nearly 500 bridge, culvert and underpass projects

The Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon Expressway is 88km long, passing through Quang Ngai and Binh Dinh provinces, with a total investment of more than VND20 trillion. This is the largest component project among the 12 North-South expressways in the East, which started construction in early 2023.

Because the route passes through many plain areas, intersecting with residential roads, rivers, streams and mountains, the design process involved the construction of hundreds of related infrastructure works such as bridges, culverts and residential underpasses.

Not only that, during the project implementation, many residential underpasses were created along the route and new horizontal drainage culverts were added to prevent flooding.

Immediately after the site of the intersection of Provincial Road 623B was handed over, the contractor simultaneously started construction of the overpass pillar at the intersection at the beginning of the route.

The representative of Project Management Board 2 said that the entire system has 77 bridges of all kinds, most of which are bridges over rivers, streams and level crossings. To date, contractors have implemented construction of 77/77 bridges. Of these, 23 bridges have had their girders installed.

"We are urging the contractor to mobilize maximum human resources to focus on the project's construction. In addition to completing the K95 embankment system, 63/77 bridges will be completed by the end of the year. These are important items of the project and need to be accelerated to ensure the capital disbursement plan for 2024," said the leader of Project Management Board 2.

In addition to the longitudinal bridge system on the route, the Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon expressway project also includes the construction of 81 civil underpasses and 397 culverts of various types.

Records along the route show that the construction of technical infrastructure systems related to the project is being implemented synchronously with the work of filling the roadbed. The contractor has completed the rough construction of most of the underpass locations and is in the stage of completing the two abutment ends and the bridge deck before pouring the compacted soil.

In the XL1 package, the representative of the contractor Dacinco said that the construction of drainage culverts and underpasses is very important. Because to complete 100% of the roadbed, these items must be completed first. Therefore, the unit urgently completes this system as soon as possible to ensure the construction of the roadbed.

According to the leader of Deo Ca Group, to ensure the progress of the project, in addition to transferring and cutting the workload of contractors with weak finances and personnel, the unit also mobilized 7 new construction sites, increasing the total number of construction sites to about 50, arranging 1,600 locomotives and equipment of all kinds and about 3,900 personnel throughout the construction site.

There are quite a lot of sewers and underpasses on the route, so contractors are focusing on construction.

In addition, the contractors also mobilized 13 cement concrete mixing stations along the route to serve the construction of the cement reinforcement layer. Deploying the installation of asphalt concrete stations along the route. It is expected that by the end of the year, there will be 6 asphalt concrete stations serving the project construction.

"Currently, the total construction volume of the project is about 5,200 billion VND, in 2024 alone, the capital allocated for the project is more than 4,000 billion VND and has been disbursed nearly 2,000 billion VND. The unit is making efforts to disburse 100% of the capital allocated in 2024 by the end of the year to reach the milestone of disbursing the total capital of the project at 8,200/13,500 billion VND", said a representative of the contractor Deo Ca.
