The Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) serves as the core force for the people to exercise mastery, implement democracy, represent and protect the legitimate rights and interests of the people; strengthen social supervision and criticism; and promote socio -political activism. Therefore, the task of reforming the organizational structure and improving the capacity of VFF officials at all levels is extremely important.
According to the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Hai Phong City, the consolidation of the organization and the full implementation of the functions, tasks, and powers of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in accordance with the regulations of the Central Secretariat are linked to enhancing the advisory role to the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and Party committees at all levels in strengthening the Party's leadership over the work of the Fatherland Front. The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels in Hai Phong City are built with a reasonable composition and structure, truly representing a broad, voluntary political alliance and typical representation of the will and aspirations of the people.
In the coming term, the Hai Phong City Fatherland Front will continue to advise on the arrangement of the organizational structure and personnel at all levels to ensure scientific and effective implementation in accordance with the Party's Resolution and the City Party Committee's directives. It will proactively propose to competent authorities to pay special attention to the recruitment, selection, placement, utilization, training, and rotation of Fatherland Front officials at all levels. The Hai Phong City Fatherland Front will focus on building a team of Fatherland Front officials with the "3T" criteria (dedication, intelligence, and high credibility) commensurate with the tasks of the Fatherland Front as stipulated in the Constitution and laws; and expand and strongly promote the role of collaborators and semi-professionals.
In parallel, the Fatherland Front of Hai Phong City proposed solutions to improve the quality of the Front's working committees' activities; pilot the establishment of Front working committees in apartment complexes where conditions permit; and review and expand self-governance models in residential communities in a practical and effective manner.
In addition to enhancing the capacity of Front Committee officials, the Hai Phong City Fatherland Front will also promote digital transformation to adapt to the digital society and digital government; and ensure the regime, policies, and operating conditions of the Fatherland Front at all levels.
Regarding the targets set by the Hai Phong City Fatherland Front Congress for the next five years, in an interview with Dai Doan Ket newspaper, Ms. Le Thi Lan, Chairwoman of the Hong Bang District Fatherland Front Committee (Hai Phong City), stated that the key targets set by the Congress are extremely important. "To achieve these targets, with six key tasks and three breakthroughs, those working in the Fatherland Front in Hai Phong need to focus on implementing solutions decisively throughout the term," Ms. Lan remarked.
By the end of the term, Hai Phong aims for 100% of its Front Committee officials to receive professional and technical training.
