In the recently released 2024 annual report, Vingroup Corporation (HoSE: VIC) detailed its plan to develop the technology - industrial sector in 2025, stating the goal of continuing strong growth in the coming years.

In the industrial sector, through VinFast, billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong's group aims to continue leading the domestic electric vehicle market, promoting the trend of switching from 2-wheeled to 4-wheeled vehicles and from internal combustion engines to electric vehicles.

The electric car company plans to continue focusing on popular models including VF 3 and VF 5, expanding its distribution network and improving services. At the same time, the company plans to expand into the Green car line to exploit the great potential in the transportation and taxi sectors.

In the Asian market, VinFast will continue to operate in target markets in Indonesia, the Philippines and India with support from the green mobility ecosystem strategy (through partners such as GSM and V-Green). Assembly plants in Indonesia and India are expected to start production from 2025.

Leading AI in Vietnam

Notably, Vingroup also sets specific development goals for companies in the group's technology sector.

First is VinBigdata , Vingroup aims to make this subsidiary the Vietnamese market leader in AI and big data, with a focus on developing products and solutions integrating generative AI for widespread application in large enterprises and government organizations, serving tens of millions of users.

In addition, the company will continue to promote scientific research, possess the best core technology, creating a solid foundation for innovation and sustainable development. VinBigdata also aims to expand its international market share through strategic customers and long-term cooperative relationships with global technology partners. At the same time, the company is committed to pioneering the development of the Vietnamese science and technology community, contributing to the innovation ecosystem.

With VinAI , according to Vingroup's plan, this subsidiary will continue to leverage its strengths in core areas such as research, training and improvement of AI solutions for smart cars, while promoting research and development of new products to suit market needs.

VinHMS aims to be in the Top 10 of hotel software solution providers as voted by Hotel Tech Report this year. Along with that, the company will also continue its international market expansion strategy, including increasing its presence in Thailand and Cambodia as well as entering the Myanmar market.

VinCSS will continue to seek international markets, after its success with the Japanese market. Ensuring security and confidentiality for VinFast's information technology system, while supporting the security certification process and software updates for new car models as well as upgraded versions. At the same time, VinCSS is researching the application of FIDO technology to enhance the security level of VinFast cars, contributing to improving safety and user experience.

Production of the first "made in Vietnam" multi-purpose robot

VinRobotics subsidiary will continue to build solid foundations for developing robot prototypes. At the same time, quickly complete designs through testing and market validation.

Notably, through its subsidiary VinMotion , which was newly established earlier this year, the corporation of Vietnam's richest billionaire is focusing on designing and developing the first generation of "made in Vietnam" general-purpose humanoid robots with many outstanding functions.

VinMotion Multi-Purpose Robot Research, Development and Application Joint Stock Company was newly established by Vingroup at the beginning of this year with a charter capital of 1,000 billion VND, of which billionaire Vuong's group holds 51%.

In the 2025 business strategy, Technology - Industry is one of the three development focuses of Vingroup along with Trade Services and Social Charity.

Last year, in this segment, VinFast - a subsidiary of Vingroup - made a remarkable milestone when it became the best-selling car brand in Vietnam with annual sales of 88,000 vehicles. This result contributed to the group's manufacturing revenue reaching VND49,696 billion, an increase of 77% compared to 203.

Meanwhile, Vingroup's technology companies such as VinBigdata, VinAI, VinHMS, VinCSS have launched many products and services.
