On the morning of April 19, Vingroup Corporation officially held the groundbreaking ceremony for the Can Gio coastal urban tourism project (commercial name Vinhomes Green Paradise) located in Long Hoa commune and Can Thanh town, Can Gio district, Ho Chi Minh City.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Viet Quang - Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Vingroup - emphasized that the group determined that Can Gio urban development cannot follow the old path but needs to bring a completely new approach, therefore, Vingroup will build Can Gio coastal tourism urban area into the world's leading ESG urban area.

"The project will be planned and developed systematically according to international standards, aiming to become a paradise for high-class entertainment, eco-tourism and ideal resort in Vietnam," said Mr. Quang.

Vingroup representatives pledged to focus all the best resources to implement the project in a systematic, synchronous and drastic manner, making practical contributions to the development strategy of Ho Chi Minh City in the era of national development.

According to Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Duong Ngoc Hai, Can Gio coastal tourism urban area will create tens of thousands of jobs, promote service and trade development, increase budget revenue and improve the quality of life for the people.

At the same time, when put into operation, the project will become an important point in the strategy of turning Ho Chi Minh City into an international economic, financial and tourism center in accordance with the city's orientation.

"The city will closely coordinate with the investor throughout the entire project implementation process, quickly resolve administrative procedures, and create the best conditions for infrastructure connections and investment environment," said Mr. Hai.

At the same time, the city will also closely monitor the implementation of commitments on environmental protection, ecosystems and community responsibility, ensuring harmony between the economy and nature in the right direction for sustainable development.

Ho Chi Minh City leaders believe that with Vingroup's capacity and experience, the support of the people and the close coordination between all levels of government, the Can Gio coastal urban tourism project will be successful and become a new symbol of a modern, humane and sustainable Vietnamese coastal city.

The Can Gio coastal tourism urban area has just been approved by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for a detailed 1/500 planning in March with a total area of ​​about 2,870 hectares, of which the sea encroachment area is more than 1,357 hectares. The urban area is divided into 4 main sub-areas: A, B, C and DE.

Oriented to develop into a multifunctional coastal tourism urban area, the project will include types such as resort tourism, conference - seminar combined with resort (MICE), smart urban area, high-tech services, along with a system of modern housing and hotels.

The city plans to have a maximum urban population of nearly 230,000 people and the capacity to welcome 8.9 million visitors each year.

According to Vingroup, one of the special highlights of the project is the Blue Waves Theatre complex with a scale of 7 hectares. Here, there will be large theaters serving musicals, symphonies, and large-scale variety performances.

In addition, the project will include a golf course system, a 122-hectare entertainment area with a Safari Open Zoo, a 5-star international cruise port Landmark Harbour and a 108-storey tower integrating commercial space, offices and hotels.

Notably, Vingroup also plans to develop an offshore wind power system 10 km offshore, to provide green energy for the entire Vinhomes Green Paradise urban area. The wind power project will apply advanced technologies, ensuring high technical standards and being environmentally friendly.

In parallel with this project, Vingroup also proposed investing in a high-speed urban railway connecting Nguyen Van Linh Street (Tan Phu Ward, District 7) to a 39-hectare land plot adjacent to the sea reclamation project, with a total estimated investment capital of more than 4 billion USD.

In addition to urban development, Vingroup also proposed that Ho Chi Minh City allow a member unit to research and develop a tourism development project, ensuring harmony between investment - development and requirements on environmental protection, forestry and biodiversity. The project will be submitted to competent authorities for consideration and approval in accordance with legal regulations.
