Priority for HCMC on the occasion of April 30th holiday
This year's April 30 and May 1 holidays are special as they mark the 50th anniversary of national reunification (1975-2025). Ho Chi Minh City, where many important events take place on this occasion, especially military parades, marches, etc., has been carefully invested in by network operators to ensure uninterrupted service quality.

For example, in the Southern region, Viettel has deployed an unprecedented campaign with more than 1,800 technical solutions, of which 945 solutions are specifically for Ho Chi Minh City. This is a 7-fold increase in workload compared to last year's holiday. A series of major events took place in succession, such as a multi-day military parade; a demonstration of 10,500 drones flying simultaneously at Thu Thiem tunnel; fireworks at 28 locations in Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces on the night of April 30; the 20th United Nations Vesak Festival... Each event attracted an average of 100,000-300,000 participants per day, increasing pressure on telecommunications infrastructure.
To ensure the network operates continuously and efficiently, Viettel has deployed BTS stations and mobile broadcasting vehicles at key locations such as the parade area, Thu Thiem tunnel and key routes. Advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and automatic monitoring systems are used to predict congestion early, automatically redirect and balance data loads in real time.
Deploying a three-tier response model, including on-site teams, network monitoring, and rapid response units on-site. In areas with limited equipment movement such as parade areas, fixed teams are fully equipped with supplies and personnel, ready to handle incidents on-site. The long-term intensity of the event, high user density, and constantly changing locations require the network operator's technical team to be flexible and adaptable like never before.
Meanwhile, MobiFone has deployed anti-congestion for 33 areas in Ho Chi Minh City. Of which, mobile broadcasting is at 38 locations (including 2 mobile vehicles + 36 mobile columns/modules) in important areas such as parades, parades, fireworks displays, festival areas... At the same time, broadcasting is organized at 77 5G stations to bring the best experience to customers, ensuring no incidents occur.
Also in Ho Chi Minh City, VNPT Group has improved mobile broadcasting capacity at 18 locations to ensure customer needs are met, and at the same time established a transmission line to serve VTV in broadcasting live events within the framework of a series of events celebrating the 50th anniversary of national reunification.
Ensuring smooth network across the country
In addition to Ho Chi Minh City, Viettel has also strengthened network security measures to support commemorative events in other areas across the country. In Hanoi, within the framework of the “North-South Promise” event, the network operator supported by deploying 8 mobile stations in less than a week, serving 15,000 subscribers in My Dinh Stadium and 90,000 people outside. Immediately after, these stations were quickly redeployed for the cultural program and fireworks display at Thong Nhat Park, ensuring stable connections for tens of thousands of attendees.
In Da Nang and the central provinces, the network upgraded 234 stations with 537 solutions, set up 36 temporary stations, and deployed 50 mobile stations to support more than 54 events. During the 50th anniversary of Da Nang's liberation, Viettel's network served 55,000 subscribers, ensuring continuous connectivity throughout the activities.
Meanwhile, MobiFone has activated its nationwide network protection plan. Since mid-April, the network operator has completed a plan to increase the number of on-duty operators, information rescue personnel, and scientifically and effectively schedule shifts. All equipment on the MobiFone network has been tested to ensure high backup configuration to avoid network incidents, network capacity, and domestic and international transmission directions, ready for increased customer demand compared to normal days.
At the same time, technical contacts from strategic partners have also been mobilized to coordinate and set up remote connection channels to provide quick support when needed. During the holidays, MobiFone will arrange full staff to handle and support customers, the network operator's hotline 18001090 is always ready to answer and support customers promptly anytime, anywhere.
Faced with high demands for data security during peak times, the network operator has increased its information security monitoring force and reviewed all equipment, transmission systems and fiber optic lines. Response and incident handling plans have been standardized, ensuring that contact points are ready to coordinate closely.
Up to now, VNPT's network is ready to meet customer needs at 57 event venues and tourist areas expected to attract large crowds.
Ensuring communications and network security is the core mission of VNPT. Therefore, all of the unit's communications systems have been built to ensure backup and have ready solutions for handling incidents. VNPT has arranged enough staff to handle and support customers during the holidays and 3,000 online technical staff are ready to handle any arising situations in addition to the 24/7 technical staff.
