Vinamilk continues its partnership with ROBOTACON WRO 2024, a major robotics competition for young talents, aiming to select teams to represent Vietnam in Singapore and Turkey. Besides supporting the organization and providing nutritional products for over 1500 contestants, Vinamilk and the organizing committee have introduced many innovative activities and content with a focus on sustainable development. Thelargest robotics competition for young people has seen many innovations in both organization and theme. This year's competition has seen a significant increase in both quantity and quality, with 488 teams (over 1500 contestants) participating from 369 primary, secondary, and high schools across 28 provinces and cities nationwide, including Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, Hanoi, Da Nang, and Hue. On August 9-10, the Northern regional finals commenced with over 200 competing teams. Next, the top-performing teams will compete against outstanding representatives from the Central and Southern regions in the national finals. From there, the 16 best teams will represent Vietnam at the WORLD ROBOT OLYMPIAD 2024, held in Turkey. In addition, the top 20 teams in Group B0 (ages 6-9) will have the opportunity to participate in the International Robotics Innovation Competition in Singapore.

Speaking at the official opening ceremony of the competition, Mr. Lasse Pedersen Hjortshøj, Counselor of the Danish Embassy in Vietnam, shared: “We are delighted to witness the annual growth in both the number and quality of participants in the competition, demonstrating that the values it brings are being positively received. At the same time, the competition has received the support of local leaders, the education sector, schools, and businesses interested in the development of children and the sustainable future of the planet. We thank everyone for their support.”
Each year, the competition will have a major theme, revolving around issues of global concern and having a significant impact on the younger generation. The 2024 competition was launched with the theme “EARTH ALLIES,” giving contestants the opportunity to explore and create solutions related to sustainable development and environmental protection.

Sharing more about Vinamilk's partnership with this year's competition, Mr. Nguyen Quang Tri – CEO of Vinamilk, said: “While mastering technology is an indispensable skill for future global citizens, global climate change is a matter of particular concern and requires the collective action of all of us. These are also the common goals that Vinamilk and the ROBOTACON WRO 2024 program are aiming for when organizing the competition with the theme “Earth Allies – Earth Allies”. We hope the competition will help children develop a mindset for applying technology, creating solutions to protect the environment and our common home, Earth – a noble responsibility that young people need to instill from their school days.” Technology geared towards a sustainable future: With the theme "Earth Allies," Vinamilk, together with the organizers, designed challenges for groups of students aged 6 to 19 to solve using innovative technological and robotics solutions, such as: Sustainable Agriculture – Green Farms (Beginner); Building Green Cities (Intermediate); Protecting Our Home Earth (Advanced).
The judges announced several unexpected tasks for the robot to perform, simulating operations at Vinamilk's factories and farms.
Iran has again blockaded the Strait of Hormuz. On June 19, Iran reimposed a blockade on the Strait of Hormuz, citing Israel's refusal to withdraw its forces from southern Lebanon and the continued presence of US troops in the region.
According to teachers and experts of the competition, the surprising aspect of this year's competition was that the questions not only required students' robotics skills but also partially simulated green solutions being implemented in practice, such as waste collection, recycling of packaging, and reforestation to protect the Earth. This helped students develop their thinking skills in applying technology to solve problems such as excessive depletion of natural resources, environmental pollution, global warming, and climate change. Mr. Hoang Minh Cuong, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hai Phong City, stated that sustainable development is both an essential need and a necessity for Vietnam to participate in the global production chain and join the markets of developed countries. To achieve this, attention must certainly be paid to children and their development must begin from a young age. “I highly appreciate this competition for its chosen theme, ‘Earth Allies,’ as well as its organization and the way the questions are formulated, which helps equip the children with knowledge and awareness to protect the Earth, care more about the environment, and promote sustainable development. The participation of businesses is also very important because it helps students gain practical access to modern equipment and new technologies being applied in production, creating a beneficial playground for students,” Mr. Cuong assessed. Another special activity of this year's competition is that contestants who reach the National Finals will have the opportunity to participate in a field trip to Green Farm dairy farms and Vinamilk milk factories. The trip will help them learn about the application of high technology, robots, AI… as well as practices in sustainable development and environmental protection.
