The information was shared by Mr. Pham Kim Dang - Deputy Director of the Department of Livestock Production at the Conference on Promoting Sustainable Pig Farming Development, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on the morning of August 14, in Hanoi.

Specifically, according to statistics from the General Department of Customs, the country's livestock feed export turnover in 2023 will reach nearly 1.2 billion USD, an increase of 6% compared to 2022.
Exports of animal feed to China - the largest market in 2023 - reached 577.41 million USD, up 30.1% compared to 2022, accounting for 48.3% of the total export turnover of this group of products nationwide.
Animal feed exports to the Cambodian market - the second largest market in 2023 - increased by 1.2% compared to 2022, reaching 166.73 million USD. The Malaysian market ranked third in terms of turnover, reaching 117.84 million USD, up 28.2% compared to 2022.
Animal feed exports to the FTA-RCEP market in 2023 increased by 15.1% compared to 2022, reaching 982.86 million USD, accounting for 82% of the total turnover. Exports to the CPTPP market increased by 9.9%, reaching 144.67 million USD, accounting for 12% of the total turnover. Exports to the Southeast Asian market increased slightly by 2.1% compared to 2022, reaching 354.47 million USD, accounting for 29.6%.
Also according to data from the General Department of Customs, in the first 6 months of 2024, exports of animal feed and raw materials reached over 492.88 million USD, down 5.6% compared to the first 6 months of 2023. In June 2024 alone, exports reached 86.6 million USD, down 6.2% compared to May 2024 and down 10% compared to June 2023.
China is the largest import market for Vietnam's animal feed and raw materials, accounting for 40.7% of the country's total export turnover of animal feed and raw materials.
In the first 6 months of 2024, exports of livestock feed and raw materials to this market reached over 200.48 million USD, down 16.6% compared to the first 6 months of 2023; in June 2024 alone, exports to this market reached 36.59 million USD, down 12% compared to May 2024 and down 24.4% compared to June 2023.
Next is the US market reaching nearly 63.62 million USD, up 91.8%, accounting for 12.9%; Cambodia reaching 55.54 million USD, down 33.5%, accounting for 11.3%; Malaysia reaching 49.51 million USD, down 4.1%, accounting for 10%...
Mr. Pham Kim Dang commented that the achieved results show that Vietnam's technology and quality of animal feed fully meet the requirements of the import market.
