According to information from the Organizing Committee at the Vietstock 2024 Exhibition press conference on August 7th, Vietstock 2024 will have more than 400 exhibitors and 13,000 visitors from 50 countries and regions. Simultaneously, the exhibition will organize diverse programs and activities to promote the sustainable development of the livestock and aquaculture industries.

Accordingly, the exhibition will feature prominent programs such as: product and service displays, technology exhibitions; technical conferences and seminars, Match & Meet business networking programs, group visitor support programs; egg booths; and a sustainable development booth area. Alongside these are key conferences addressing pressing industry issues. Speaking at the Vietstock 2024 press conference, Mr. Duong Tat Thang, Director of the Department of Animal Husbandry, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, said that thanks to the attention of the Party and Government, and with the efforts of the entire industry, the institutions, policies, and resources of the animal husbandry sector have become increasingly synchronized, complete, effective, and compatible with regional and international integration.

However, the head of the Department of Animal Husbandry emphasized that the Vietnamese livestock industry, like the world, is currently facing many difficulties and challenges. Issues such as diseases, climate change, fluctuations in the animal feed raw material market, antibiotic resistance, and especially the management of the livestock environment, have created urgent demands for the industry to address.

Furthermore, Vietnam's livestock industry has many unique characteristics compared to other countries, including the need to ensure livelihoods for small-scale livestock farmers (who still account for a high percentage, approximately 9 million households); challenges from dependence on input materials, especially raw materials for animal feed production and breeding stock; the low proportion of organized livestock production systems with closed-loop circulation and distribution; and the need for environmental management, livestock waste treatment, and sustainable development that ensures social welfare without sacrificing the environment.

Therefore, according to Mr. Duong Tat Thang, Vietstock 2024 Exhibition is an opportunity to showcase, introduce, and promote advanced products and technologies in the livestock sector both domestically and internationally. It also provides a favorable environment for businesses, researchers, training organizations, and industry experts to network, learn, update, share experiences, and propose solutions.
