Mobile internet speeds in Vietnam have increased for five consecutive months.

On a broader scale, average mobile internet download speeds in Vietnam have maintained growth for five consecutive months since March 2024. During this period, mobile download speeds increased from 38.69 Mbps (March) to 54.34 Mbps (July), a rise of approximately 40%. Mobile upload speeds increased by about 20%.

With fixed broadband, the average download internet speed nationwide in July was 100.28 Mbps. The average upload speed in July was 102.34 Mbps. Over the past three months, fixed internet speeds for both upload and download have remained stable, fluctuating negligibly at around 1%.

Regarding the quality of Internet service providers in Vietnam, i-Speed ​​statistics show that Viettel has now surpassed others to take the top position in mobile Internet speed.

In July 2024, the average mobile internet download speed for Viettel users reached 65.89 Mbps. The average mobile internet upload speed reached 21.71 Mbps.

VNPT ranks second in mobile internet speed (download 52.99 Mbps, upload 21.5 Mbps). MobiFone (download 37.19 Mbps, upload 20.59 Mbps) and Vietnamobile (download 10.59 Mbps, upload 3.99 Mbps) rank third and fourth respectively.

In the fixed broadband segment, statistics for July show that CMC Telecom is no longer leading in internet speed as it was in previous months.

Statistics on fixed-line internet download speeds for CMC Telecom showed a decrease from 299.24 Mbps in June to 74.58 Mbps in July. This result pushed CMC Telecom down to 4th place.

The provider with the best fixed-line internet download speed in Vietnam in July was Viettel (128.97 Mbps). FPT Telecom ranked second (100.59 Mbps). VNPT came in third (95.82 Mbps), while SCTV (73.26 Mbps) and Netnam (60.77 Mbps) ranked fifth and sixth respectively.

The Ministry of Information and Communications' release of data on Internet access speeds aims to enhance transparency, openness, and public benefit in service provision.

The published results also allow individuals, organizations, and businesses to choose services and network providers according to their needs and actual conditions. This activity also improves the efficiency of management based on actual data, contributing to promoting the development and improving the quality of Internet access services in Vietnam.

In fact, since the Ministry of Information and Communications publicly announced the service quality of Internet service providers in Vietnam in April 2024, mobile Internet speeds in Vietnam have increased significantly (1.4 times faster for downloads and 1.2 times faster for uploads). Meanwhile, fixed Internet speeds, both for uploads and downloads, remain stable.

The Telecommunications Authority recommends that individuals/organizations/businesses regularly use the i-Speed ​​application to measure their internet access speed. Using the i-Speed ​​testing application is completely free and does not incur any data charges.

Along with upgrading the system for statistics, sharing, and providing data on internet access speeds in Vietnam, the Vietnam Internet Center – VNNIC has just updated the i-Speed ​​app to a new version, allowing users to measure automatically.
