( Bqp.vn ) - On the morning of August 14, in Can Tho city, the Military Region 9 Command organized the Emulation Congress for Victory of the Military Region's Armed Forces for the period 2019 - 2024. Senior Lieutenant General Huynh Chien Thang, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army attended and delivered a speech directing the congress.

In the period of 2019 - 2024, the Military Region 9 continues to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the guidelines of the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense and the guidance of the General Department of Politics on emulation, rewards and the Emulation to Win movement.

Speaking at the congress, Senior Lieutenant General Huynh Chien Thang requested the Party Committee, the Military Region 9 Command and the Party committees and commanders of agencies and units to continue to thoroughly grasp and strictly implement the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State, resolutions and directives of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense on emulation and rewards. Determining the content and targets of emulation and organizing the "Determined to Win" emulation movement must closely follow the political tasks of the Military Region's armed forces and the goals of socio-economic development, national defense and security; especially the thorough grasp and implementation of the Resolution of the 8th Central Committee (13th tenure) on the Strategy for protecting the Fatherland in the new situation, Resolution No. 28 of the Politburo and Decree 21 of the Government on defense zones.

Focus on emulation to build exemplary clean and strong Party committees and organizations, "exemplary and typical" comprehensively strong agencies and units; regularly and closely link the Emulation Movement to Win with the patriotic emulation movement at the local level and emulation movements and campaigns of all levels, sectors and organizations. Along with that, it is necessary to focus on improving the quality of the work of building and replicating advanced models; focus on building and implementing well individual emulation models bearing the mark and creativity of the Military Region 9; have many advanced models and examples disseminated and replicated throughout the entire army and the whole country.

In particular, the Party Committee, the Military Region 9 Command and agencies and units in the Military Region's Armed Forces develop action plans and programs to concretize and successfully implement the directions and tasks of emulation and reward work for the next 5 years as determined by the congress.

Specifically, from now until the end of 2024, the Military Region's Armed Forces need to organize well the peak emulation campaign "Proud of tradition - continuing the feats - worthy of Uncle Ho's soldiers" and activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army, the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day; at the same time, proactively and actively deploy preparations to successfully organize Party congresses at all levels in the Military Region Party Committee, towards the 12th Military Party Congress and activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, National Reunification, and the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in 2025.
