Sonja Dennig (28 years old), who has nearly 480 thousand followers on TikTok, had a sad vacation, because she encountered a scam while visiting an idyllic island in Germany.
On July 28, on her personal TikTok channel, Sonja recounted how she was scammed during her vacation. The video quickly went viral, attracting more than 3.6 million views.
She said she booked a hotel room for her trip to Westerland, the island of Sylt in Germany. Online photos showed a room with a “sea view,” with sand dunes outside the window and a flood of warm sunshine, according to Nypost .
She was excited about the trip. "We are looking forward to exploring this beautiful landscape," Sonja excitedly shared at the time.
However, when she arrived at the hotel and checked in, she was completely shocked. She realized that the view of the sand dunes and the blue sea was actually a large painting hanging on the window. And the "sunshine" was the light from the light bulb.
"It's just a picture. Our room is in the basement," she said angrily. "No one has ever lied to me like this before," she said.
Her video went viral, sparking a backlash from social media users. Many sympathized with her and shared her experience, while criticizing the blatant fraud of the company she booked a room with.
In May, Clarisa Murgia, who lives in Argentina, found herself in a similar situation while traveling in Europe. Clarisa chose a room described as having an ocean view, with a series of beautiful pictures on the hotel website.
But when she arrived, she opened the curtains to enjoy the sea view and was shocked to discover it was just a painting. Her story has attracted more than 2.5 million views.

The guy got a bitter ending the first time he went to a hotel with his girlfriend of 4 years.

To save money, a family of 8 rented a luxury hotel for hundreds of days.

While sleeping in a hotel, the woman was shocked to discover an intruder.
