On August 8, Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Thi Tuyen chaired a courtesy visit to the Training and refresher course on administrative work for officials of the capital Vientiane (Laos) led by Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Head of the Organization Committee of the Vientiane Capital Party Committee Khamma Sengmyxay - Head of the Delegation of officials of the capital Vientiane to study, before finishing the training and refresher course in Hanoi.

Also attending the reception were Vice Chairman of the City People's Council Pham Qui Tien and Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen.

At the beginning of the meeting, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Thi Tuyen affirmed the special and fraternal relationship between the two parties, two states, and two peoples of Vietnam and Laos. "That relationship has been forged over many years of history, and continues to be promoted and developed, becoming an exemplary model between the two parties, two states, two peoples, and two capitals," the Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee emphasized.

The Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee said that over the years, Hanoi has always paid attention to the work of building the Party and the political system. Currently, the City Party Committee as well as its affiliated Party Committees are focusing on implementing Directive 35-CT/TW of the Politburo on organizing Party Congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Party Congress.

The city also focuses on socio-economic development, national security and defense in 2024, the year of acceleration to complete the targets and goals of this term. Accordingly, despite many difficulties in the general context of the region and the world, Hanoi has made efforts, promoted traditions and potentials, and advantages to achieve the set goals. In the first 6 months of 2024, Hanoi's economic growth reached 6%, an increase over the same period in 2023. State budget revenue in the area reached more than 252,000 billion VND, reaching 61.7% of the estimate, an increase of 12.5% ​​over the same period. The domestic revenue ratio accounts for more than 94% of the city's total revenue.

Total investment in social development is more than 9.4%, higher than the same period in 2023. Hanoi also focuses on developing both economy and culture, society, including a special topic on cultural development. Hanoi has invested in, preserved and restored over 5,000 historical relics. The education sector ranks first in the country. In investing in infrastructure connecting the capital region, Hanoi has implemented the project to invest in building Ring Road 4 - Capital Region and parallel roads to increase connectivity with provinces and cities.

In particular, on June 28, 2024, the National Assembly passed the Law on the Capital (amended), effective from January 1, 2025, and commented on two major plans: the Master plan for the construction of the Capital to 2030 and vision to 2050; the project to adjust the Master plan for the construction of the Capital to 2045, vision to 2065. The two plans will help shape space, urban management, investment, and urban development in the future. Accordingly, two cities will be built under the Capital.

The Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee hopes that through the training course, the two capitals will continue to foster the everlasting friendship between the two Parties, two States, and two peoples to develop more sustainably.
