Prime Minister: Strive to master the technology to preserve Uncle Ho's body by 2030

(Dan Tri) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized the need to promote cooperation in scientific research and experimentation, striving to fully master the technology to preserve President Ho Chi Minh's body by 2030.
On the morning of August 12, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh inspected the results of the periodic restoration of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in 2024 and worked with the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Management Board (Mausoleum Management Board) on the results of the implementation of tasks in the first 6 months of 2024. According to statistics from the Mausoleum Management Board, from August 15, 2023 to July 31, 2024, the Mausoleum Management Board welcomed nearly 2 million compatriots and international visitors to visit President Ho Chi Minh; welcomed nearly 14,000 visitors to the Monument to Heroes and Martyrs. In the first 6 months of 2024, the Management Board also welcomed more than 1.6 million visitors to the Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace; welcomed more than 430,000 visitors to the Ho Chi Minh Museum.

In particular, the Mausoleum Management Board has proactively developed a plan, prepared well in terms of human resources, materials, and plans; coordinated and implemented the periodic restoration of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in 2024 to ensure quality, absolute safety, and on schedule. In particular, the unit has completed the task of making a large body of President Ho Chi Minh's body according to the process and with absolute safety; and carried out maintenance and repair of the technical equipment system and architecture of the Mausoleum. After the restoration, President Ho Chi Minh's body continues to be preserved in the best condition; the technical equipment system operates stably, accurately, reliably, ensuring the reserve coefficient; the landscape, architecture of the Mausoleum and adjacent works are more spacious, clean, and beautiful. After inspecting the results of the periodic restoration of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in 2024, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh worked with the Mausoleum Management Board and related units.

The Head of Government emphasized that the Ba Dinh Historical - Cultural Relic Complex, including the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site at the Presidential Palace, the Ho Chi Minh Museum, the Ba Dinh Special Political Administrative Area, etc., has great significance and value to the country. "The long-term preservation and absolute protection of President Ho Chi Minh's body and the preservation, restoration, and promotion of the value of the Relic Complex are both a noble responsibility and an honor and pride, demonstrating the affection of our people for President Ho Chi Minh and the national historical tradition," the Prime Minister emphasized. Informing that there will be many important events of the country in the coming time, the Prime Minister requested ministries, branches, Hanoi city and the Mausoleum Management Board to coordinate closely, proactively, promote the spirit of creativity and innovation so that the space of Ba Dinh Square, relics related to President Ho Chi Minh and the Martyrs Memorial Area will always be a place for cultural and political activities and a place for every Vietnamese person to return to when coming to Hanoi and to Uncle Ho.

The Head of Government requested the Mausoleum Management Board to continuously improve its capacity to best perform the task of preserving President Ho Chi Minh's body in the long term and ensuring absolute safety under all conditions. In particular, the Prime Minister emphasized the need to apply scientific and technological advances in research on embalming and preservation; promote cooperation in research and scientific experiments, striving to fully master and successfully complete the task of preserving Uncle Ho's body in the long term and ensuring absolute safety by 2030. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also agreed to continue to reopen the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum to welcome compatriots and international visitors to visit President Ho Chi Minh from August 13.
