According to the planned schedule, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's delegation will work with Ho Chi Minh City on the results of socio-economic development and the implementation of Resolution 98. This is the third meeting of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh with Ho Chi Minh City in his capacity as head of the Steering Committee for Resolution 98, and it takes place in the context of Ho Chi Minh City summarizing one year of implementing Resolution 98. According to the report of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee on socio-economic growth results, in the first six months of the year, the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) is estimated to have increased by 6.5% compared to the same period last year, the highest since 2020, contributing 19.6% to the overall growth rate of the whole country. In the first seven months of the year, total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue increased by 10%; export turnover increased by 10%; and import turnover increased by 5.9%. The Industrial Production Index (IIP) increased by 6.2% compared to the same period last year. State budget revenue reached 309,000 billion VND, nearly 64% of the annual forecast. In addition, after one year of implementing Resolution 98, Ho Chi Minh City has achieved many positive results. Specifically, it has approved the decentralization and delegation of power mechanism in 5 areas: investment management; finance and budget; urban management, natural resources and environment; government organizational structure; and science , technology, and innovation management. Also on the morning of August 10th, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will chair the 4th meeting of the Southeast Region Coordination Council in Ho Chi Minh City. The meeting will discuss the council's operational status; the implementation of the project to establish and promote the development of innovation and artificial intelligence startup centers in Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, and Dong Nai; The meeting will discuss the progress of the project to develop a dynamic information technology industrial zone, attracting investment in the production of electrical and electronic products, Internet of Things (IoT) products, and artificial intelligence in Dong Nai, Binh Duong, and Ba Ria - Vung Tau provinces. Additionally, the meeting will address the progress of the research project on a free trade zone linked to a seaport in the Cai Mep Ha area; the development of transportation connections to Long Thanh Airport; and proposals for completing the Ho Chi Minh City urban railway network.
