Prime Minister disciplines two former provincial governors.

(Dan Tri Newspaper) - Former Chairman of Binh Duong province Le Thanh Cung and former Chairman of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province Nguyen Van Trinh have been disciplined by the Prime Minister with a warning for violations and shortcomings in their work.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang has just signed decisions of the Prime Minister regarding disciplinary action against two former Chairmen of the People's Committees of Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau provinces. Accordingly, in Decision No. 793, the Prime Minister decided to impose a Warning disciplinary action on Mr. Le Thanh Cung, former Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and former Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Duong province for the 2011-2016 term (from December 2011 to February 2015). Mr. Cung was disciplined for violations and shortcomings in his work, for which he had already been disciplined by the Central Inspection Committee within the Party.

In Decision No. 794, the Prime Minister decided to discipline Mr. Nguyen Van Trinh, former Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and former Chairman of the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province for the terms 2011-2016 and 2016-2021 (from August 2014 to August 2019), with a warning. Mr. Trinh also had violations and shortcomings in his work and had been disciplined by the Central Inspection Committee. Previously, on June 15, at its 42nd session, the Central Inspection Committee decided to discipline the two former provincial chairmen with a warning. According to the Party's inspection agency, Mr. Le Thanh Cung and Mr. Nguyen Van Trinh violated Party regulations and State laws in performing their assigned duties and responsibilities. The two former leaders also committed violations in leading and directing the implementation of contracts carried out by the International Advanced Corporation (AIC) and businesses within the AIC ecosystem. Furthermore, Mr. Cung and Mr. Trinh violated regulations on what Party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility of setting an example; causing serious consequences, negative public opinion, and diminishing the prestige of the Party organization and local government, to the extent that disciplinary action must be considered and taken.
