The information was announced by Mr. Le Hoai Nam, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City on the morning of August 7.
Accordingly, in the additional recruitment round, except for the top 3 high schools Nguyen Thuong Hien, Phu Nhuan and Le Quy Don, which had no students registered, the remaining schools have recruited additional students for the 2024-2025 school year. Among them, there are schools that recruited additional 10th grade students, reaching 100%, meeting the quota assigned by the Department of Education and Training.
According to Mr. Le Hoai Nam, the application of regional priority has brought some advantages to candidates and high schools. Specifically, it ensures the rights of candidates in remote areas with many difficulties to continue studying at public high schools.
According to regulations of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, from August 7 to 4:00 p.m. on August 12, schools will accept additional admitted candidates.
The 2024-2025 school year is the second year that the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training has organized additional recruitment for grade 10. This year, 36 public high schools are recruiting additional students with 2,203 targets.

Among them, the schools with the highest enrollment quota for grade 10 are Phong Phu High School (Binh Chanh District) with 300 students. Next are Nguyen Van Linh High School (District 8) with 191 students, An Nhon Tay High School (Cu Chi District) with 140 students, and Nguyen Van Tang High School (Thu Duc City) with 134 students.
Students can register for additional admission if they have not been admitted to any of their wishes to public high schools, and have a total score of 3 subjects and priority points greater than or equal to the standard score of their 3rd wish of that school.
For students at secondary schools in Can Gio, Nha Be, Binh Chanh, Hoc Mon, Cu Chi districts and Thu Duc City, if they register for high schools in the same area, their total exam score must meet the standard score for their first choice.
The 2024-2025 public 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City took place on June 6-7, with more than 98,000 candidates taking the exam. Of which, the city's target for 10th grade public schools is more than 77,300 students.
The benchmark scores of public high schools were announced by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training on July 3, with the highest being Nguyen Thuong Hien High School with 24.25/30 points.
