Ms. Silvia Danailov has been appointed as the new UNICEF Representative in Viet Nam, with her term starting in August 2024.

Receiving Ms. Silvia Danailov, the new UNICEF Representative in Vietnam, who came to present her credentials on the afternoon of August 7, Deputy Foreign Minister Do Hung Viet highly appreciated UNICEF's role in the field of child care and protection, especially UNICEF's effective support and cooperation with Vietnam over the past decades.

Affirming that Vietnam always pays attention to the field of child protection, care and education, the Deputy Minister asked UNICEF to strengthen cooperation to support Vietnam in realizing socio-economic development goals and related international commitments; at the same time, coordinate the implementation of Vietnam's initiatives on International Day of Play, National Action Program on Women, Peace and Security...

The Deputy Minister believes that with her many years of experience and expertise, Ms. Silvia Danailov will make positive contributions to promoting the cooperation between UNICEF and Vietnam in the coming time. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is ready to support the UNICEF Office in Hanoi and the Chief Representative personally in implementing activities in Vietnam.
