That was the purpose of the organization as well as the message that the speakers conveyed at the Conference on disseminating and educating human rights laws and policies organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) on August 7, for reporters, editors, officials, and civil servants in the information and communications sector.
Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Deputy Director of the Department of Legal Affairs, Ministry of Information and Communications, Ho Hong Hai said that human rights are one of the issues that our Party and State always pay attention to, attach importance to and identify the propaganda work on human rights as a political task and a regular responsibility of the entire political system, both in the short and long term.
Recently, the Party has issued many new policies to strengthen propaganda and education work for cadres, Party members and people so that everyone has a deeper understanding of the Party's viewpoints and the State's policies and laws on human rights.
To continue effectively implementing the State's guidelines and policies in the field of human rights, on September 14, 2022, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 1079/QD-TTg approving the Project on communication on human rights in Vietnam for the period 2023-2028 with the goal of: Promoting information and communication activities on human rights, thereby creating changes in the awareness and understanding of the whole society about human rights; providing full information to help people in the country, compatriots abroad and international friends clearly understand the viewpoints, policies, efforts and results achieved in the work of protecting and promoting human rights in Vietnam; enhancing Vietnam's reputation in the field of human rights domestically, regionally and internationally.
According to Mr. Ho Hong Hai, in 2024, the Legal Department will organize 2 conferences to disseminate this field in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Conferences to disseminate and educate about human rights laws and policies are one of the regular tasks organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications, aiming to improve knowledge and skills on human rights for reporters, editors and information and communication managers.
Mr. Ho Hong Hai assessed that the media and press are not only a bridge to bring information to the public, but also a powerful tool to help raise awareness, educate about human rights and reflect the actual situation of implementing these rights. The active participation of the media and press will help increase transparency, promote understanding and support from the community, and at the same time create pressure for authorities to carry out their responsibilities more effectively.
In the digital age, multimedia and social networks have become important platforms, helping information on human rights to spread quickly and widely. This not only helps people to promptly grasp policies and laws related to human rights, but also creates conditions for participation in activities to protect and promote human rights.
In addition, improving your writing skills for human rights advocacy also plays a key role. A persuasive article requires not only in-depth knowledge of the topic but also communication skills, the art of using language and the ability to connect with readers.
Therefore, organizing conferences, training workshops and seminars for reporters, journalists and media officers is extremely necessary so that they can write quality, attractive and influential articles, thereby contributing to raising awareness and promoting positive actions from the community in this field.
