With the approval of 100% of delegates attending the 26th Session of the 13th Provincial People's Council, term 2021-2026 on the morning of August 2, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province, term 2020-2025.

Taking on the role of Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province at a time when the 2024 fiscal year is only 5 months away and is also a pivotal year to accelerate towards the end of the 2020-2025 term, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang commented: this is a period that requires high concentration on promoting socio-economic development, ensuring national security and defense, and improving people's lives.

“In the immediate future, as the head of the Provincial People's Committee, I will focus on directing and operating according to the conclusions and resolutions issued by the most recent People's Council meetings, ensuring effective implementation of the 2024 plan, then striving to accelerate in 2025, focusing on completing the targets set for the term” - Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee said.

In the long term, Mr. Giang said that there are two major issues that need attention. The first issue is that Quang Ngai must focus on promoting industrial development. The province's advantage is the Binh Son Oil Refinery and Petrochemical Complex, which is being oriented by the Government to become a national energy center; the success of the VSIP Industrial Park...

“Promoting the success of VSIP Industrial Park Phase 1, it is necessary to accelerate the progress of site clearance to implement VSIP Phase 2. At the same time, attract investors and successful Quang Ngai people to do business in the province. From there, create jobs for people, increase budget revenue" - Mr. Giang stated his opinion.

Regarding social security, the Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee said that Quang Ngai has a large number of policy beneficiaries, families with revolutionary contributions and many mountainous districts. In addition to implementing policies well, there must also be fundamental solutions to develop charity houses, schools, hospitals and schools in remote areas.

For the 5 mountainous districts, people's lives are still difficult, and more attention needs to be paid to social policies. The province will allocate funds, increase investment in schools, health stations, hospitals, and create livelihoods so that people's lives can develop more and more, striving to leave no one behind.

Promoting infrastructure construction and digital transformation

According to the new Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee, transportation in particular and infrastructure in general are one of the breakthroughs from the beginning of the National Party Congress term to promote development, trade of goods, and serve the travel needs of the people.

In recent times, Quang Ngai has invested in many infrastructure development projects, especially transportation projects. However, during the implementation process, it has encountered many challenges such as compensation, site clearance, etc. Most of the key transportation projects are facing problems, problems, and delays.

As the head of the Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Giang said he would listen to specific reports from agencies and units on each project. He would focus on solving specific problems and removing each bottleneck.

Closely follow the conclusions of inspections and examinations and seek opinions from competent authorities for policies and directions to promptly resolve existing problems in accordance with legal regulations. Quickly complete works and projects to put them into operation, effectively promote investment resources.

Along with solving old problems, we must also maximize relationships and implement new issues to continue investing and perfecting infrastructure.

“I am also very concerned about the issue of tourism development in Quang Ngai. If we want good tourism, the infrastructure must be good. Visitors must have tourism products, and beautiful roads so that we can have revenue. Tourism is an effective livelihood to solve social security issues and increase revenue for the people,” Mr. Giang expressed.

The new Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province also shared that he set a goal to apply his expertise during his years as Deputy Minister of Science and Technology to promote digital transformation and administrative reform for Quang Ngai.

"For Quang Ngai, it is necessary to more strongly implement digital transformation and apply information technology. Equip all levels and sectors with digital transformation thinking and apply it in management, production and business. This is also considered a fundamental and important solution," said Mr. Giang.
