According to the food website Taste Atlas, a range of Vietnamese fruits such as durian, dragon fruit, and star apple are considered to have the best flavor in Southeast Asia.
Taste Atlas, a website dubbed the world's culinary map, has just announced the top 26 fruits to try in Southeast Asia. Vietnam boasts many famous and delicious fruits on this list, including dragon fruit, durian, star apple, coconut, mango, and kumquat. Ranked 5th on the list, Phan Thiet dragon fruit is introduced by Taste Atlas as one of the fruits with a distinctive, subtly sweet flavor that is very easy to eat. Furthermore, dragon fruit orchards can become a destination for tourists to explore as part of a "rural tourism" model. Besides white-fleshed dragon fruit, red-fleshed dragon fruit is popular in culinary preparation due to its attractive color. Many restaurants utilize this ingredient to prepare appetizers, side dishes, desserts, and drinks. Additionally, Binh Thuan dragon fruit also makes the list at number 7.

Cai Mon durian ( Ben Tre ) ranks 7th on the list. This fruit is known as the king of fruits, but it's quite selective in terms of taste. Taste Atlas describes it as having "thick flesh, a subtle aroma, and a sweet flavor that many people associate with cow's milk. The fruit has relatively few seeds."
