Recently, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MOCST) issued a document on organizing the Exhibition "Cultural characteristics of ethnic groups in the Northeast region in the cultural community of Vietnamese ethnic groups" within the framework of the 11th Northeast Ethnic Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival in Lang Son province, 2024.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism assigned the Museum of Cultures of Vietnam's Ethnic Groups to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Ethnic Culture and related units to organize the Exhibition "Cultural characteristics of ethnic groups in the Northeast region in the cultural community of Vietnamese ethnic groups" within the framework of the 11th Northeast Ethnic Groups Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival in Lang Son province in 2024.

According to the plan, the 11th Northeast Ethnic Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival is expected to take place for 3 days (from November 2-4) in Lang Son city (Lang Son province) with the participation of 8 provinces: Bac Giang, Bac Kan, Cao Bang, Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Vinh Phuc, Thai Nguyen and Lang Son.

With the theme “Northeast Culture - Identity, Integration and Reaching Out”, within the framework of the Festival, there will be many cultural, sports and tourism activities including: Performances, introductions of festival excerpts, traditional cultural rituals; exhibitions, introductions and promotion of local traditional cultural products; exhibitions, processing and introductions of traditional culinary culture; mass art festivals and performances of costumes of ethnic groups in the Northeast.

In addition, the event also includes traditional sports activities (competition includes 4 events: tug of war, stick pushing, shuttlecock throwing and stilt walking); tour guide skills demonstration; scientific seminar "Cultural tourism in the Northeast - source and development"; Lang Son culinary tourism program...

The festival is an opportunity for artisans, actors, and mass athletes to meet, exchange experiences, and raise awareness and consciousness in preserving and promoting traditional cultural values ​​of ethnic communities in the Northeast region during the period of integration and development of the country.

At the same time, it is an opportunity for the provinces participating in the Festival in general and Lang Son province in particular to introduce and promote the potential for tourism development, promote the traditional cultural values ​​of ethnic minorities to domestic and international friends; thereby promoting understanding, enhancing recognition, contributing to making Vietnam a notable highlight on the global cultural map.
